This is interesting because it dips into the limitations of fair use. Is it acceptable to exploit a notion from an authority on a subject to reinforce an idea, even if that idea is frail or faulty? Isn't that what we do all the time to some degree?

When you look at how the Discovery Institute, Fred Singer's network of climate change deniers, Alternet and Infowars all operate, they're constantly doing this to some degree. For those curious, this is something generally referred to in anti-apologist circles as "Last Thursdayism" which is basically that if all of things creationists are proposing are true, then it would appear that God went through a lot of trouble to make the universe appear old when it actually isn't. The universe could have been created "Last Thursday" and our entire lives and history could have occurred in less than a week by God's divine will or whatever, but it would never seem this way to us.

This is very odd. Not that apologists care, mind you.
