I agree that the principle actors in this drama are not American, but being an English-language North American, I'm not going to start shooting my mouth off about things I'm not well equipped to understand beyond a general 'fuck religious fervour.'

However, America (and pretty much the rest of western civilization) is hardly squeaky clean, especially as it pertains to fucking Iraq and the broken Goddamn record that is Afghanistan. If western nations are going to get involved in the middle east - something we should all strongly consider just no longer doing - the first goal should be to do no harm. It's the middle east; there are no simple solutions to those complex problems, despite how big your charge card is.
