How do you figure this is impressive? Do you think beating your personal best for running-somesorta-distance by driving a car is impressive?

Well, do YOU mister??

P.S. Nothing bad happens to you, the car, the track and/or the entire universe and you are able to beat your time in an extremely unimpressive manner, you fucking forum lawyers.

Some of these speed runs require a stupid amount of preparation to pull off. Maybe impressive isn't the best word, because I think anyone could memorize key presses if they do it over and over and over. But, it's something all right.

Jesus, calm down.

Not to burst any bubbles, but TAS guys weren't going to do anything ground-breaking with their spare time.

Impressive or not, the video description at least left an impression on me:

"Starting back in the summer of 2010, the estimated time for this run was thought to be roughly 27 minutes. However, after almost four years of painstaking planning, theorycrafting and execution, we have arrived at our final time, smashing all of our wildest expectations.

"Not only do we owe this new world-record time to all the new tricks we've discovered, the new routes we've found and the new ways we've
learned to manipulate the game. A lot of the improvement from the first estimation and the previous world record (29 minutes, 41 seconds)
comes from the very hard work and countless hours put into perfecting each and every segment, no matter how short or trivial. This run has
truly been an endurance test for everyone involved, and we're extremely happy to finally be able to share it with you."

Why use tools then? Is there a standard set of tools they use? Why not just do it normally? It's the exact same thing in terms of planning and all that I'll bet but surely it would be easier to standardize if you are going to have silly world records?

FUCK!

The time spent making this time attack was time taken away from smoking cigarettes, oddeye.

I honestly love this kind of thing.

Think of it as a play-through done by D.A.R.R.Y.L.

Sanest Man Alive - 2014-04-18

Gordon Freeman reimagined as a capering madman, a god of chaos writ in polygonal flesh who unravels the world around him simply by his passage through it.

And grenades. Grenades help, too.
