I always wanted to either read the book or see the movie. The Sideways Stories were some of my favorite books as a kid, but Holes came out I think right before I was graduating from high school, so you know, typical "too cool for YA fiction" *takes puff of clove cigarette, pulls out Hesse from back pocket..*

I'm not ashamed to admit that I was pretty much one of those "emo kids" from South Park in high school.. oldest question in existence, but "book or movie?" Feel free to say "both."

Definitely "both." I loved the book as a kid, but I still watch the movie from time to time.
