If you're outside the US search for "Hola extention" and install it on your browser of choice.

Corporate USA is USA at its best!

Sudan no1 - 2014-04-25

If a tough bouncer says it, it must be true!

EvilHomer - 2014-04-25

Does this episode feature any series-spoilers? I've only seen up to the first half of Season 3, and while I'd really like to see this episode, I don't want to watch it only to discover that Linda died at the end of Season 3 or something.

Cena_mark - 2014-04-25

No. It seems like a normal episode. Bob's Burgers doesn't really have those types of episodes.

StanleyPain - 2014-04-25

As someone who's watched every episode up to this one, I can honestly say you can watch them in pretty much any order and it wouldn't matter. This show doesn't do that "story arc continuity" bullshit. Occasionally an character is introduced who shows up later and you might not know who they are, but other than that there's nothing you would spoil by watching the episodes in any order.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-25

Well, what about the big reveal that Mort was bald?

Cena_mark - 2014-04-25

Sure they brought back the documentary film maker and Linda's sister, but its not the kind of show where it episode order really matters. Its not like starting out watching MLP at season 4.

Shoebox Joe - 2014-04-26

It features a series spoiler if you ask me! The one where Bob gets to be a reference as a background pony!

Rafiki - 2014-04-25

Video doesn't play for me, but I want to say it's bullshit that there isn't a clip of Buttloose up on Youtube. Or in major movie theaters around the country.

I had to click on "original" down at the bottom to get to it. Makes sense that Hulu wouldn't want to embed I guess.. my problem is that HBO kind of learned its lesson when the HBOgo servers crashed because too many people were using others' accounts to watch the end of True Detective, and have at least flirted with putting some of their episodes up on Youtube, knowing that they'll probably show up there one way or another regardless.

With Fox, it's really not something that you pay for like a cable channel once you have a television, so why they're so strict about their shows being on other websites like Youtube is kind of beyond me. You still get the ad revenue from the ads that are easily rendered un-skippable and a player that works a lot better.

Cena_mark - 2014-04-25

I love Bob's Burgers, but this video has nothing to do with MLP or Bronies.

infinite zest - 2014-04-25

I didn't watch the whole thing, but I think it covers what mainstream media/audiences would see if they saw/heard about a Bronie for the first time: Men in Pony fursuits. Daughter's got a very rare edition Pony and is fucked out of it by the bronies and Bob has to infiltrate their organization by becoming "one of them." I'm guessing he learns to accept them even though he's opposed to the whole thing in the first place.

Not really about the culture.. just kind of like when the Simpsons go to Japan or something and every mainstream trope or taboo is taken to its logical conclusion, like Homer fights Godzilla or something. The bronie culture fascinates me, and while I'd like to see an actual show devoted to the lives of real bronies, I knew when I clicked on the link that I wouldn't find it on Bob's Burgers.

It is cute though.

infinite zest - 2014-04-25

btw that's not a spoiler. I really didn't watch more than a minute or so where they go to the convention. The rest is just assumption. I have no feelings for Bob's Burgers, negative or positive. I don't really like the drawings and don't find it as funny as most new animated TV shows, but if it's on I'll watch it and I'll laugh. It's heartfelt and very sweet.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-25

Does it not? I still haven't watched this episode, but I hope it's got some good MLP references. I notice that the artists have been working in MLP references since the first season (that portrait of Tina with Pinkie Pie that's hanging next to the stairs, for example), and BB's general positivity seems to go hand in hoof with the uplifting messages of MLP.

I don't know if I'd be willing to fursuit, not even to save my daughter's toy. Bob is a very good father.

Cena_mark - 2014-04-25

This episode involves a show called Equestranauts and its male fan base called equestricles. There is no mention of MLP or Bronies whatsoever.

Shoebox Joe - 2014-04-26

It wouldn't be but Bob is dressed as an obscure BACKGROUND pony!

Cena_mark - 2014-04-26

I don't know who the background ponies are in Equestranauts. Its not like he dressed as Bon Bon, Lyra, Dr. Hooves or any background ponies from MLP.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-26

I don't really know anything about the Bob's Burgers fandom. Is there one? And if so, are Burgies (?) generally on good terms with MLP fans?

EvilHomer - 2014-04-26

Well, there you go. Thanks, Shoebox, for posting this episode!
