I don't really know too much about ASL, but do know some people in the deaf community who read lips.. to me at least, only a few of these actually sync up with the lips, other than that they're just random non sequiturs.

I thought the point of these was that they actually got deaf people to read these.

They are supposed to somewhat match up to the lips but they mostly don't. Other than the odd line I think it's a case of trying too hard and "whacky" random humor.
