Maybe they'll get it right this time around.

I miss Brimstone.

So, he's not smoking. Why?

Looks a bit like Sleepy Hollow. A mix of horror and apocalyptic drama that doesn't take itself too seriously. Which since Sleepy Hollow is great, sounds great.
But I probably won't ever be able to hear Matt Ryan, and not picture Pirate Captain Kenway.

Interesting. It kind of reminds me a little bit of Demon the Fallen slammed together with Hunter the Reckoning.

It's a TV show on a major network. Everything you saw in this trailer that was not people talking, making furtive looks at each other, or kissing/fucking will be spread out over 20 episodes and it will move at the pace of Dragonball Z.

When Hellblazer was great, it was great, when it was boring, it was boring. This looks about like the same format, so they may have done it right.

Was this Kickstarted or something? I'd love to think it could be good but I...suspect otherwise.

This seems like it was written by a schizophrenic person for fanfiction.net.

oddeye - 2014-05-13
Childish plot lines and characters "spiced" up for "adults" with swearing, o wait it's from a comic book? That explains it.

I always roll my eyes at the whole spoooooky hell and scaaaary demons christian superstitions. I could watch Supernatural for a while because they never took themselves so seriously. But this looks like the kind of stuff I just can't get into.
Sorry, NBC.

chumbucket - 2014-05-13 Actually awaiting the xtian blowback that gets another NBC show canceled after 3 weeks.
|
Quad9Damage - 2014-05-13 Speaking of Supernatural, I just started season six and so far I'm impressed by the way they've handled the transition from hunting ancient gods and urban legends to Judeo-Christian mythology. I'm glad the show has stayed fairly light-hearted and hasn't turned into '7th Heaven' or something; it's like a less over-the-top 'Preacher.'
Constantine's trench coat and tie inspired the Castiel design, right?

Quad9Damage - 2014-05-13
I confess with nerd remorse that I've never read a single panel of Hellblazer. At the very least this trailer has me curious about the trade paperbacks.
|
memedumpster - 2014-05-13 Check out the single volume story All His Engines. If you like that, you can go to the rest knowing that only about 20% of it will live up to what you just read.

|
memedumpster - 2014-05-13 It's on sale at JC Penny now that it's a warmer season! They come mostly in fall colors... get it?
|
Jet Bin Fever - 2014-05-13 There are some amazing issues, esp the Garth Ennis ones. You should check it out.
|
roofle - 2014-05-13
Looks like they wanted to copy the Whedon formula, except they didn't hire anyone who can actually act outside of the lead.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-05-13
I really like Hellblazer comics. I liked it when he was in Swamp Thing too. This just makes me sad and disappointed. I guess it can't be as bad as Keanu Reeves, but still.
|
memedumpster - 2014-05-13 So long as they have him pissing on the king of the vampires, I'll be happy.
|
Gmork - 2014-05-13
Doesn't look better than the movie everyone hates.
|
Binro the Heretic - 2014-05-14 Yes it does.
It doesn't have Keanu fucking Reeves in it.

That guy - 2014-05-13
