I don't understand the analogy, but I'm pretty sure that being colorblind would not be a hindrance to doing a paint by numbers.

that movie really bummed me out because i realized i actually really can't become a pilot. I really don't think that's fair because we make good snipers. Also, we have sharper spatial intelligence because we are ignorant of distracting color patterns. I could pilot a fucking plane. I bet it's just cause the stupid control panels are all red and green. the only humor here would be having the adults nonplussed by the baby stripper, or intimidated, but what is important here is that knoxville remind us all that he is SHOCKING and TRANSGRESSIVE, even though even at his peak, he was only shocking and transgressive to the most sheltered and privledged mainstream audience, even though real child beauty pageants ( the toddler doing 'like a prayer' in a cone bra) are far more sexual and shocking.

:) You had me at 4:45. This looks charming. I kind of ignored it because of the "Jackass Presents.." and I think my association with Grandma's Boy (!?) Now I get the "Jackass Presents" part.. an entire Hidden Camera road movie is pretty fucking genius, even if Borat and the rest kind of covered that ground. I'll check it out.

I don't really get the Christopher Guest comparison: As far as I know, everyone in those movies is in on the joke, like TPB it just looks very real. From what I can ascertain here (and correct me if I'm wrong) very few people are in on it (or are but find out later), which makes a Sasha Baron Coen comparison more appropriate. I liked both those films but deep down they lacked heart, substituting a story for a bunch of "oh no they DIDN'T" moments from two characters whose segments on the show were only five minutes. From what I can see here, this one does.

Well, that's not the way I remember it. They don't TELL you what the colors are. They sell you a bunch of little jars of paint with the number stamped on the jar.

There is a certain skill to painting by numbers. A presbyterian church on the South side of Binghamton still has a paint by number picture of Jesus surrounded by children that was painted by my Great Grandfather, no later than the 1950s. It's actually very nice.
