I'm not a rocket scientist, but I do know that making a rocket take off and land straight up is a damn difficult thing to do.
I'm getting major flashbacks to 50s sci-fi stories where people took off and landed in rockets like this. Bradbury would be so proud!
Our grandchildren will be living on the moon because the earth will have been rendered uninhabitable from the consequences of using all those propellant based rockets.
