Oh yeah, that is smooth, and I've never seen the video for it before. This seemed to be a time when soul stations were getting popular with the masses and moved their sound 'uptown' a bit.
Let's see what songs I can remember with this one, I can go by sound, Funkin' For Jamaica, Diana Ross' Mirror On The Wall, and any Rod Temperton production.
The Wikipedia page for this song doesn't mention it, but I guess he re-recorded it for his "Best Of". The only way I found out was by looking up said "Best Of" on Amazon where a number of people are complaining about it.
The re-recorded version is a bit faster. And his voice is a bit higher as well. It's on Spotify if you're curious.
