Why poeTV loves the terrorists.

EvilHomer - 2014-06-15

If George Washington had an AK-47, we'd all be dancing to darbukas right now.

oddeye - 2014-06-15

PERFECT

oddeye - 2014-06-15

This is how I like to clock out of work too.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-06-15

This is probably the first time firing an AK-47 went right.

It fires underwater. I'm pretty sure it's a functional weapon.

EvilHomer - 2014-06-15

Yeah, and you can dip it in mud, hell, you can even piss all over it and it'll still fire. You know, for all those times you happen to be pissing on your firearm. 'course, the ammunition is still too large, the muzzle velocity is still too low, and you won't be able to hit a damn thing past 300 meters, but hey! You can blind fire your mud-covered piss-rifle underwater, and it might even generate enough force to kill someone swimming a meter or two away from you!

You know, Gmork, for a gun nut, you really have terrible taste.

Gmork - 2014-06-15

Most people cannot hit any part of a target at 300 meters. The AK is definitely a medium engagement weapon on account of the slugs not staying aerodynamic and actually tumbling mid-air.

That's actually a big reason for the AK's up-close effectiveness - the slugs will sometimes enter the target completely sideways, leaving a nasty horizontal slit of an entrance wound.

Gmork - 2014-06-15

Also, anybody who thinks I'm a "gun nut" hasn't ever listened to my position, but rather projected their wishful thinking of what they BELIEVE or WANT my opinion to be, and ignore what I actually say altogether.

People like that tend to project their assumptions, and it's disappointing that it's something a lot of you fall victim to. Anyways, I didn't say anything about liking the AK-47, that's yet another assumption you've made - I simply respect the durability of the design.

I wouldn't take offense to such low-level trolling, but part of me gets offended by the notion that you might actually believe the words you put in my mouth.

BorrowedSolution - 2014-06-15

Gmork says: AKs are A-OK!

EvilHomer - 2014-06-15

"Most people"? OK, maybe "most people", in the sense that most people have never used a rifle before, but a trained shooter can most definitely hit targets at well over 300 meters, and I'm sure the vets here can back me up. Rifle qualification in the Army was up to 500 meters, which was tough to hit, but hardly impossible, and well within the grasp of anyone with a week's training. And a decent rifle. Not an AK47, the Budweiser of firearms.

Face it, Gmork, your precious AKs are a cheap and effective way of arming poorly trained militias. That's it, that's why they're popular. They are not "god-guns", as you seem to think.

Cena_mark - 2014-06-15

AKs don't belong in the U.S., as Homer said they're for poorly trained militias, not the well regulated militias protected by The Constitution.
Homer was in the army so I take his word for it. In Coast Guard basic training we used a shooting simulator. It was like Duck Hunt.

EvilHomer - 2014-06-15

Cena: Was it the MILES range? With the big video screen and that laser gear on your rifle and the little video replay that showed you why your shot went off target (trigger squeeze, breath control, whatever)? We had one of those at BCT; it was hella fun.

I really want to set something up like that for FPS gaming.

EvilHomer - 2014-06-15

(disclaimer: as I've said before, I'm no bouncer. I wasn't some high-speed MOS like infantry, I was an intel dork and a shit shot to boot. I could barely see down the sights thanks to my stubby arms and birthcontrols. So if *I* could learn to hit targets at 500 meters, anyone can.)

Cena_mark - 2014-06-15

No, it wasn't like that. It had a big screen projector and the pistols had a gas powered kick, but it didn't do anything beyond just show us our score.

EvilHomer - 2014-06-15

You qualified on pistols?

Cena_mark - 2014-06-15

Not yet. You can't qualify on a simulator. I think they're working on a real range so recruits could possibly leave Cape May qualified on pistols. We only work with pistols in basic training.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-06-16

You misunderstand, Gmork.

This time, instead of spewing hot metal death, an AK-47 fired off DA FUNK!

Old_Zircon - 2014-06-15

The doumbek player's expression around :03 really makes it.

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-06-15

It's their cover of Neil Diamond's hit "Coming to America".

memedumpster - 2014-06-15

That was great!

More of this, less religious genocide and suicide bombing, please.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-06-15

I guess the safety was on.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-06-15

Some great comedic timing!
