Multipart doesn't work, so here are the links to parts 2 and 3:

http://youtu.be/EFVUeV0kO78
http://youtu.be/sbKeItuVjIE

Part 2 goes into more detail about the villains and individual episode reviews, while Part 3 is far more personal, focusing on the emotional drama and the fifteen years in the desert that the Road Rovers fandom has endured. Part 3 is by far the best one; if you watch nothing else, skip ahead and watch Part 3.

infinite zest - 2014-06-21

The music in pt. 3. If Flint$ has moved on, can't we all?

Boomer The Dog - 2014-06-26

Thanks Homer, especially for part 3, it's sad but it was good to watch.

All you need to know about Road Rovers is that it aired on Sunday mornings because it wasn't good enough for Saturday.

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2014-06-21

B-b-but Earthworm Jim!!

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-06-21

And Freakazoid.

infinite zest - 2014-06-21

I think I might have seen an episode or two.. I'd regularly try to watch Freakazoid and I think this was on right before it. I was pretty indifferent: A show about talking super-animals that isn't one of the myriad others doing the same thing.. dogs? Well now you're thinking outside of the box.

But I think this was right around when shows like Powerpuff Girls were showing up, which to me was a genius spoof on anime/barbie doll conventions. I liked it, but everyone I knew thought it was either, and I quote, "gay" or, well "gaaaaaay." So I watched as much as I could, thinking it'd only last a season in the mostly teenage-dominated male demographic. I'm glad I was wrong and it became a phenomenon.

If CN owns the rights or can get them, I could see the show, in theory at least, taking on a new form, kind of like Teen Titans Go (I always thought Teen Titans were super lame until I caught that show and it's genius in its self-awareness w/r/t its horrendous source material. CN could theoretically use this to their advantage, making a new Road Rovers in an already-established universe that's very tongue-in-cheek.

Keep up the good fight, Road Rover fans

For some reason the proportions of the characters' heads to their bodies throws my brain off track a little. I can't look at them without thinking they're just humans wearing dog heads.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2014-06-21

Well, youre not too far off; they're actually normal dogs who get human bodies from being stuck in a machine by a scientist and revert back to nornal dogs when the human bodies are necessary, if I recall correctly.

So essentially, they are just dog heads stuck on human bodies.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-06-21

They're also all the pets of world leader, hence their atrocious accents.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-06-21

When the video first started, I thought it was a speech synthesizer talking.

Took about a minute for me to realize it was a real person narrating.

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-06-21

"most people have moved on..."

Yes. But not some people. Some people can be simulatenously on fire and turning into crustaceans and still be entirely given over to obsessing over a 90's cartoon about space dogs. And that kind of person, well, he or she or it often ends up ...here.

BHWW - 2014-06-21

SPACE DOSG

giygusattack - 2014-06-21

I can't believe I watched the whole thing.

Kabbage - 2014-06-21

Autism tag?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-21

"Autastic" tag?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-21

How about "dogbomination"?

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2014-06-21

I like the narrator's WWII announcer-style rat-a-tat-tat speech style in a gravely serious tone. The fuzziness in the background just adds to it.

"Today we live in an age where quality cartoons are almost nonexistentc"

Adventure TimecAvatarc My Little Ponyc ADVENTURE TIME?!!

Five stars for AvaTarc, the bus that only picks up your ideal self.

Scrimmjob - 2014-06-22

He sounds like the emergency broadcast guy, only instead of telling you to take shelter, he over analyzes some dumb ass and forgettable cartoon.

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2014-06-22

This guy really needs the instrumental track and moans of Dead Kennedys' "Kinky Sex (Makes the World Go Around)" playing while he speaks.

chumbucket - 2014-06-21

Swatcats?

dairyqueenlatifah - 2014-06-21

Another furry favorite, starring two male cat mechanic partners.

It would have been gay even if they were humans.

infinite zest - 2014-06-22

Swatkats was actually kind of cool. It sort of had an anime style and lots of dogfights, and for a cartoon about cats flying F-14s it took itself pretty seriously.

bluiker - 2014-06-21

But how does the powerful Rottweiler compare to an average human mother? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Racketeer - 2014-06-21

This is brilliant. It seems like a parody of one of these guys, even the show seems fake. I agree with the point about home video availability though, that's a big problem with animated shows.

The Mothership - 2014-06-21

"Most people have moved on."

ashtar. - 2014-06-21

It was secretly canceled because the humor was too mature. Like nut shots.

infinite zest - 2014-06-22

I think there was some sort of rule against that (not to mention the "sonovavich" or however it's spelled.)

While Animaniacs pushed innuendos and cartoony violence pretty far, most physical comedy going back to Merry Melodies didn't involve direct nut-to-object contact, and when/if it did it didn't result in a reaction like "OW YOU JUST KICKED ME WHERE MY PENIS AND TESTICLES ARE!"

I think we were just supposed to believe that none of these characters had anything under there, like so many Ken/GI Joes.
