Multi-part videos broken. Just follow the related links on youtube.

SolRo - 2014-06-23

That's not how it's done!

if multipart is broken, you submit every single god damn video, even if there are 30 of them.

then you submit every single marginally related video that youtube suggests

EvilHomer - 2014-06-24

Yeah, I just watched every clip they have posted, and every last one of them is PoE-worthy.

Do you know if Retrontario has access to entire episodes? According to the internet, Ten Forward aired in two-hour chunks; why are the Retrontarians being such cock-teases?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-06-23

Oh, HELL YES!

I'm... uh... uh... um... ALSO... a... uh... a hopeful writer.

Scrimmjob - 2014-06-23

The way his voice cracks is perfect.

chumbucket - 2014-06-23

All of these. Please.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-06-23

This is quite the find. What a good day POETV is having.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-06-24

It's going to get better when Cognitive Dissonance's review of Atlas Shrugged gets out of the hopper.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-06-24

Oh but I guess you already knew that. I wasn't aware who I was talking to.

BHWW - 2014-06-23

Public Access TV was, in some ways, like the Youtube before Youtube.

They're not happy with their custom made uniforms.

God bless all cosplayers! I am not one of these guys, but I love these guys.

And I love Star Trek. Over the decades, there have been long blocks of time when I only watched the movies, and I haven't seen ANY of a couple of the series. The movies have let me keep in touch over the years without making a big effort, and that's kind of sweet.

I seem to be coming out of a long long low-level depression, going back years before I ever came here, and the ways that I know this is happening is that I am taking care of my apartment, and I'm taking a deep joy in fantasy pop culture. Currently, my three favorite things are Marvel Super Hero movies, Inuyasha (which Boxxy turned me on to) and Star Trek TOS. I haven't seen more than an average of maybe one episode a year since the 70s, but Hulu Plus has every episode of every series. Right now I'm only interested in TOS. Few things stand up so well in spite of looking so dated. These things make me feel so old, and so young, at the same time, and I like feeling that way.

It is a kind of religion, isn't it? A community based on shared myths and stories. If you think these guys take their Star Trek too seriously, consider how seriously SOME people take their shared myths and stories!
This may be what sanity looks like.

All time is truly lost and gone
Which is spent in not serving love-
Unless that love is Star Trek, nerd,
In which case it's disintegrated.

-Torquato Tasso

memedumpster - 2014-06-24

I watched Mudd's Women as an adult for the first time not long ago. The sheer bleak darkness of that episode was totally lost on me as a child. It's Star Trek Valley of the Dolls.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-06-24

Wouldn't it be great if there's a race of aliens who look like men in plastic lizard suits? As I saw Shatner admirably struggle to make his battle with the Gorn look like something, it occurred to me that there was no reason why a real alien couldn't look exactly like that.

That guy - 2014-06-24

That's ripe for use.
Too bad Futurama is over.

badideasinaction - 2014-06-24

I'm kinda shocked and disappointed I don't recognize these two, given that I've been to Star Trek cons in the Toronto area. It was a few years later, but con crowds won't let anything go ever so I'd imagine I'd still be hearing about some elderly guy trying to bring his super famous tv show back.

Might just be because they moved, or that age is especially unkind to the overweight in terms of keeping their appearance.

This one might merit a post to the locals to see if they know anything. For science.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-06-24

So help me out with something... a planet where you can breathe the air, e.g. just about every motherfucking planet in the motherfucking Star Trek Universe, that's known as a "class M" planet, right?

I could google it, but I'm guessing this is common knowledge in here. In fact I'll bet we've got a couple of fluent Klingon speakers among us.

EvilHomer - 2014-06-24

Yes, it is; you needn't be a Trekkie to know that, though, as it has become a fairly standard trope in science-fiction.

magnesium - 2014-06-24

Fandom before the internet was so primitive. The first caller has a script idea instead of 400+ pages of fan fiction published online? The second caller has a question about a trivial detail that isn't carefully documented on a wiki somewhere? We've come so far.

RockBolt - 2014-06-24

Is that Tom Lennon?
