A.k.a. "Moi je suis Down Down Down jour et nuit."
"Rita-Rita" was a "one hit wonder" even in Montreal, but apparently the singer herself, Maryse Letarte, has had a successful career as a singer/songwriter under her own real name. http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryse_Letarte
I presume the drummer is a member of the Klingon Imperial Diplomatic Corps, based in Montreal, or at least someone who went on to be associated with that organization. http://www.klingon.org/club/membership.html
The show is "Combat des Clips", the weekly show where you'd phone in to vote for one of two videos, a "Nouveauté" (new contender) or a "Champion" (the previous week's winner). It may still be on Musique+ for all I know, and I believe there was even an English version that aired on its sister station, MuchMusic, for a while in the mid-1990s.
I think the funniest thing about "Combat des Clips" was that the all-time champion video (last time I checked, which was the 1990s) was none other than Bon Jovi's "Bed of Roses", which won week after week for at least a year, and I seem to remember they had an all-time champion battle and "Bed of Roses" won again and had another, shorter run as Champion. (Not sure which video "Bed of Roses" was up against in the all-time Champion match, but it may have been Guns N' Roses "November Rain".)
