I've seen a lot of really awkward people doing really awkward stuff on the Internet and elsewhere, but something about the mixture of awkward and just utterly bland and mediocre makes this really stand out.

EvilHomer - 2014-06-30

I will never understand what would possess dorks to do something like this. The whole hour-long panel is just one facehoof after another!

As far as highlights go, the YT commentators seem to like the Shakespeare Booty quote (I forget where that was, it was not a highlight), and around 16:00 they reference decade-old South Park and Family Guy episodes at the same time.

EvilHomer - 2014-06-30

Also, I never thought I'd say this, but for buck's sake, shut up about things being 20% cooler!!! Rainbow Dash said that, like, once. ONCE. It is not her catchphrase, and while it's definitely a really cool quote (20% cooler than any other popular pony phrase from the show), you do not have to base an ENTIRE SKIT around it, particularly not one in which you REPEAT THE PHRASE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN, IN EVERY OTHER SENTENCE.

There is such a thing as having too much of something good.

Cena_mark - 2014-06-30

Its just a dumb convention skit. What do you expect? You have the exact same dorkiness as other kinds of Cons.

The New Meat - 2014-07-01

You know what else you don't need to do?

Replace the word "fuck" with "buck."

When you substitute like that, you are essentially, for all intents and purposes, saying "yiff." Congratulations.

Xenocide - 2014-07-01

And if there's one thing New Meat is highly invested in, it's the proper usage and application of the word "yiff."

EvilHomer - 2014-07-01

"Buck" is a minced oath similar to "fudge" or "frak"; the most direct furspeak translation I can think of for the word "buck" is the very obscure cuss word, "fargnax".

The furry word "yiff" is probably closest to the brony word "clop", although the two words are not perfectly interchangeable, as "yiff" has it's roots in full penetrative sex (literally, it is 'the sound a fox makes when it's horny'), whereas "clop" is softer and more poetic, referring to the act of pony masturbation (literally, it is 'the sound a pony's hooves makes when she rubs herself'). As an adjective, both words can be used interchangeably with the standard English word "sexy" ("Pinkie Pie is so cloppy!", "gosh you have a very yiffy nine-dicked griffox Second Life avatar!"), but when used as a verb ("I want to yiff!", "I want to clop!") the difference is readily apparent; the first refers to any of a number of sexual activities done with one or more partners, while the second refers to solo masturbation. They do not mean the same thing.

Harveyjames - 2014-07-01

I'm glad we got to the bottom of this

The New Meat - 2014-07-02

It's weird how you can't say fuck.

Cena_mark - 2014-06-30

Ugh. I hate improvisational comedy. Not even ponies can save this mess.

The New Meat - 2014-06-30

You seem to have reversed two concepts in your comment.

EvilHomer - 2014-06-30

But "I save improvisational comedy. Not even ponies can hate this mess" makes no sense, Mr The New Meat.

Harveyjames - 2014-07-01

I love improv. Matt Besser and other founders of the UCB theatre are gods to me. I don't think the improv form is the problem here

Cena_mark - 2014-07-01

Improv is the worst form of comedy. Even professional Improv comics look like this. I've tried to watch Who's Line. It sucks.

Harveyjames - 2014-07-01

Whose Line is short-form, which I'm not a fan of. The long-form improv they practise at the UCB (and on the "Improv4Humans" podcast) is great.

Shoebox Joe - 2014-07-01

I might give UCB's improv a second shot, but in general improv seems to annoy me too much. Don't know what it is, but it just does.

Waugh - 2014-06-30

IF I SCREAM INTO THIS TOILET LOUD ENOUGH THE ECHOES WILL DEAFEN ME

Riskbreaker - 2014-06-30

The only highlights to this event would be airplanes carpet bombing the entire area for several hours.

Cena_mark - 2014-06-30

That would be the only highlights that would make a Riskbreaker convention any good.

BHWW - 2014-06-30

Cena-Mark: "Yeah, the Riskbreaker...is A Big Dumb-Face...Stupidhead...Jerk...Idiot Convention!" :smugly adjusts rainbow striped fedora at a more rakish angle:

Riskbreaker - 2014-07-01

The Riskbreaker store called me, they told me they ran out of me. I'm that popular.

Cena_mark - 2014-07-01

Riskfaker, there is no store or convention for you, cause you're lame.

Xenocide - 2014-07-01

HORSE PASSING GAS.

misterbuns - 2014-07-01

Fucking boring

spikestoyiu - 2014-07-01

Serious question: do these people legitimately enjoy My Little Pony or is it just kind of a refuge for people like this? Like do awkward, doughy white people just throw their hands up and realize that they will probably need to become part of this culture before anyone talks to them?

Harveyjames - 2014-07-01

My stars for you, sir

Cena_mark - 2014-07-01

I legitamatly enjoy the show, but I don't talk about it outside here and I'm not part of any community. I'm sure it attracts some awkward folks, but we're not all like that.

Shoebox Joe - 2014-07-01

I'm not up to date on the current fan/staff relationship, but I'd have to say it just disintegrates past that point. It's a bit of a yay/NEIGH afterwards. Kind of cool bit though, the fans are pretty encouraging when it comes to the staff's non - MLP stuff.

Yay/neigh. Ha.

That's all I got. :(

Gmork - 2014-07-01

Using "pony" in place of "body".

The world of humans is made up of people, not ponies.

Harveyjames - 2014-07-01

Also the show isn't called 'Whose Line Is It Anybody'

BHWW - 2014-07-01

I just noticed that; I had read it as Anybody but I forgot we were dealing with Bronies here, who have come up with even more inane terminology than furries who started calling everything "fur-" or "-fur".

Cena_mark - 2014-07-01

They should have called it "Horse line is it anypony"

EvilHomer - 2014-07-01

Hooves. "Hooves Line is it Anypony".

Shoebox Joe - 2014-07-01

Wow, Harvey James is the only one of you three who doesn't come off as a fronting, stubborn bitch.

Congratulations for losing any sense of tenacity and integrity you fucking closet bronies.

Harveyjames - 2014-07-01

What about "Hooves Rein Neighs Bit Whinnypony"

EvilHomer - 2014-07-01

I don't like that one very much. Sometimes, less is more.

But it's a good start!

BHWW - 2014-07-01

I know it's Whose Line Is It Anyway because I've watched enough of that show, including the current CW incarnation with Aisha Tyler as host, but I thought for some reason they used Anybody instead of Anyway and I thought it was a bit odd, it wasn't until I looked at it again I realized they shoehorned in another fucking horse pun.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2014-07-01

It burns.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-07-07

I'm not going to watch this. No way, Jose.
