THE NINTH DOCTOR: Elderly comic actor Rin Kuzuyama made the role his own, especially when the show was temporarily renamed "Leering Panties-Sniffing Time-Travel Grandpa."

THE SIXTH DOCTOR: Some fans thought it was a mistake to cast an actual carp as the Doctor. Those people do not understand Japan.

THE THIRD DOCTOR: This Doctor was also Kamen Rider, and both shows aired at the same time, on the same station. It wasn't confusing.

THE ELEVENTH DOCTOR: Matt Smith.

THE SECOND DOCTOR: The writers weren't quite sure how to handle the concept of regeneration at first, which is why this Doctor wore a cut-out mask of the previous actor and a tshirt reading "I AM THE SAME PERSON AS BEFORE" for 172 episodes.

THE WAR DOCTOR: We probably could have done without all those scenes in Nanking.

Goddamn, I feel like a fool for not realizing how easily Dr. Who can be adapted to tokusatsu. The miniscule budget, the goofy alien menace, hell, even the periodically debuted new doctors... it fits perfectly.
