OK, someone's going to do it, so I might as well start. Mr Africa, I have to take issue with your description. I would neither say this song is particularly cheesy, nor is it the "peak" of trance (cheesy trance or otherwise). Don't misunderstand me, it's a classic song, just not quite the peak. "Castles in the Sky" is about fifty feet from the summit, maybe a little closer; nearly there, but it still has at least one good stretch left to go. As far as the cheesiness is concerned, well, the video is a bit cheesy, I'll give you that, but the song itself is both respectable and in good taste, by trance standards if nothing else.

tag suggestion: "respectable and in good taste"

When it comes to cookie cutter McTrance, 'Castles in the Sky' is the Hillary Step to the summit of shitty music mountain, Robert Miles' 'Children'

EvilHomer - 2014-07-13

Children?! *McTrance*?!? Dear God, man! Has the entire world gone insane?!

Spaceman Africa - 2014-07-13

I mainly submitted it for the video. Nothing makes you want to dance more than some guys in Raybans shuffling in a sewer.

EvilHomer - 2014-07-13

I'd like to imagine that they're down there with Keith Flint and The Prodigy.

Maybe that sewer is an ultra-hot renegade rave venue, run by Master Splinter and the Turtles? It's like the underground dance scene's version of Amnesia; only the coolest of the cool know to dance there.

This shit should be on 73Q

EvilHomer - 2014-07-12

Sounds like someone's a Grumpy Georgie! Sounds like, someone needs a visit from the Trance Fairy!

*bwooooooo-*

cognitivedissonance - 2014-07-12

Sounds like we need a Happy Hardcore week.

Spaceman Africa - 2014-07-12

I'll submit it to 73Q so it will get 3 views and sit unrated for months.

oddeye - 2014-07-13

Other than being unlistenable shit, on what merit have you judged this so-called music worthy of the front page of this illustrious PoETV website?

This submission took up a spot that could have been given to a video of me completing an ungodly number of lunges in my homemade Rita Repusla dress before licking the cum and sweat encrusted gusset of my maternity panties.

Can you honestly say that this is a fair substitute?

EvilHomer - 2014-07-13

>>Happy Hardcore week

Exactly what I was thinking! When I think "cheesy electronic music", I don't think trance. I think Happy Hardcore.

And oddeye, you shut your mouth. I'm sorry that Britain produces nothing but shit when it comes to trance, but this is still the apex of Western music and you know it.

EvilHomer - 2014-07-13

And post that video.

fedex - 2014-07-12

Love Parade by Paul Van Duke has worn that crown for decades... And I still love it

fedex - 2014-07-12

Sheesh autocorrect
VAN DYKE

fedex - 2014-07-12

oddeye - 2014-07-13

fedex - 2014-07-14

SHUT UP

The Mothership - 2014-07-13

The guy who does the musicless music videos should do this one.

Also, this song is seared into my memory as a tune my now wife and I would get silly to in the dirty clubs back when we were courting

Having given the world Bach and Beethoven, The Beatles and The Clash, I would like to cordially invite Europe to rest on its laurels for a century or two.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-07-14

Weird flashbacks to watching nerdy friends embarrass themselves on DDR back in the olden days.
