SHOW US YOUR CHEST YOU BIMBO

Is this anything more than a pathetic attempt by Republicans to break up the state's electoral votes? Also if a state's shitty state warrants a break up, then we should split make 4 Mississippi's.

He's a silicon valley tech guy who would love to be able to cut the poor parts of the state away from Palo Alto's tax base

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-07-17

I think that is deeply at the heart of this. They passed a law in Silicon Valley that criminalizes homeless people living in their cars. They really are moving to pretty much make their own government so they can do whatever the hell they want.

Though the main problem here is it would be a bureaucratic nightmare to reconfigure who gets what amounts of water with six states all vying for the same aqueducts.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-07-18

It's most likely a plan to basically keep making money via venture capital in a new state where he has enough pull to pay zero taxes.

It says something when you're already a billionaire and your big plan is to make AN ENTIRE FUCKING NEW STATE because paying any taxes is an affront to everything everywhere, and if the poors don't realize it, they can sit outside the fortress walls.

boner - 2014-07-17

i think someone pointed out that one of the new states would be the nation's richest and another one the poorest.

Kabbage - 2014-07-17

Yup. Central California would be the single poorest in the nation, ranking below Mississippi in Pre-Capita Income.

It would create at least 4 new democratic senators, too, so it's not even coherent vote-rigging.

Kabbage - 2014-07-17

1:38 - This is a wholly unrehersed 4th grade class presentation

themilkshark - 2014-07-17

"Our gift is one of opportunity and choice." They're not doing a good job of hiding their electoral vote manipulation strategy.

Hooker - 2014-07-17

It didn't even occur to me that you can go to the mall and get something tacky put on a tie. It's so unfathomable that anyone would do that.

baleen - 2014-07-17

The reason you've dropped so far is that people refuse to pay taxes for all the fucking things you just listed you smarmy jackass. That was not always the case.

Decades of deregulation, labor outsourcing and mechanization and bailouts of utilities and real estate endeavors means Jerry Brown has to cut social services and infrastructure payouts. It's a vicious circle. Once you deregulate and go down the austerity path, it's an uphill getting back to your previous glory.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-07-18

Also, for a tech guru, he and his organization seem awfully stupid, as they've left ratings and comments enabled.

Of course, they could actually believe the people would hail this as a great idea, which speaks to another problem they have.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-07-22

The dumbest idea I've heard in a while.
