Hey coggy-d, do you know more about this?

I'm afraid I don't. There appears be some partial footage from it. Crowley's involvement would've put him squarely in the middle of his fame following the Golden Dawn copyright infringement trial. Hereward Carrington was founder of the Society for Psychical Research. If you want to get spooky about it, the theories about Houdini and Crowley both working for the espionage community would make a very nice boolean in this instance, it seems like Crowley's presence is purely decorative otherwise.

SO, upon some research:

This puppy has been a lost movie for so long the legends around it have grown pretty crazy. Houdini and Crowley weren't involved, but Carrington based the hero on Houdini and the villain on Crowley. Over the space of however many years since, a legend has grown around it, so that Wikipedia on it is wildly inaccurate.

However, Crowley's association with cinema is strongest with Preston Sturges, whose mother was Crowley's third Scarlet Woman. Sturges was a child but on hand for Crowley's writing of BOOK ABA.

What I'm finiding:

It's not exactly a movie, it's a fifteen part serial with a screenplay by the author of "The Perils of Pauline". It looks to me like Crowley wasn't directly involved, and was merely the inspiration for the villain. Harry Houdini worked on the special effects.

It's been considered lost, but it's developed a following and that has led to some heroic efforts at restoration, including a book someone published from stills and old newspaper accounts of the plot, and now there's some recovered footage. It looks like someone is crowd-funding a real restoration.

That's so strange, because I'm getting Crowley as consultant, but everybody involved is known for actively lying professionally so whatever.

Beats me, all I'm doing is googling a subject I didn't know existed before today, and reading blogposts written by people who are probably doing the same thing. If you have anything interesting, and it's online, just post the links.

Here's a tinyurl of the link about to http://www.johncoulthart.com. It will probably be easier to use, because it won't have a gap.

The most interesting thing you'll see is a famous photo of Crowley being adapted for the advertising.
