Written by John Carpenter, directed by the director of The Empire Strikes Back, it's pretty much an Americanized giallo.

It's also the first film produced by Jon Peters that didn't have something to do with Barbra Streisand, even though Faye Dunaway's role was originally meant for Streisand.

When I saw it, I was going through my militant anti-disco phase, so I didn't really care for it. I don't know what made me seek it out on google after 150 years, but the trailer fascinates me with its elegant, pre-DonLaFontaine narration. I'm so sick of trailers these days, with the flashing images and the boom-crash sound effects.

Pretty sure this is the first movie I ever saw with an OUT gay character. I'd have to see it again to have an opinion of whether it was a good thing or a bad thing.
