If I had that job I probably would've walked it out right out of the factory resulting in the slowest car chase ever...

BiggerJ - 2014-08-03

O.J.ceratops.

BiggerJ - 2014-08-03

Oh, wait, that's a Styracosaurus. Even Dinosaur Comics is probably better at dinosaur names than I am.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-08-03

Styracosaurs are still ceratopsidae.

Lurchi - 2014-08-03

DARPA you've done it again

Binro the Heretic - 2014-08-03

It better not end up in a fucking creation museum.

infinite zest - 2014-08-03

If it does they better have the most appropriate song lyric ever:

Everybody please do not walk the dinosaur

There's an entire dinosaur animatronics industry apparently centered in Zigong, China. You can find more factory demo videos by searching on YouTube for "zigong dinosaur animatronics" (Probably because a number of dino fossils have been found there).

I was in Tokyo circa 2002. There were gambling/video arcades on every street corner. In one of these, you could get onto the back of a bunch of pandas and ride all over the place. They were coin operated and it was just awesome.

memedumpster - 2014-08-03

Holy god, I just saw a vision of the future where we all ride horses again, except they're robot horses, except they're not horses at all but robot dinosaurs.

Robot dinosaur horses.

TeenerTot - 2014-08-03

I could swear there was an 80s cartoon like that....

EvilHomer - 2014-08-03

There were a few cartoons sort of like that. Dinosaucers featured futuristic dinosaurs with access to robotic technology. People did not ride them, however - instead, the dinosaurs rode flying saucers and their human friends just walked. Then there was DinoRiders, which had dinosaurs that people rode; however, these dinosaurs were fairly low-tech, if I remember correctly. The evil dinosaurs had robotic augmentation, I'd have to look it up as my memory is very spotty about that series, but I think the good dinosaurs were equipped with Flintstones-style "all natural" technology, and not robotics.

EvilHomer - 2014-08-03

Woops! I'm wrong. The good dinosaurs also had access to robotic technology:

But they were still not themselves robots.

EvilHomer - 2014-08-03

Also, BioShock 3 includes robotic horses (steampunk robots, if you want to get technical), which was a really cool idea, but unfortunately it wound up going NOWHERE, because the designers were IDIOTS.

EvilHomer - 2014-08-03

And speaking of robot horses, this is starting to get offtopic, but whatever, I think this is hella cool:
