"The uploader has not made this video available in your country."

Really?

To be fair, virtually any action or inaction in Syria is contributing to deaths in Syria.

I know it's an unpopular stance, but I sincerely believe there was a window in the initial uprising when Assad's downfall could've been theoretically managed with the help of an international coalition, ala Libya. Yes, Libya is barely clinging to its identity as a modern nation-state, and yes, roving bands of militias control large swathes of the country, but at least its fate is in the hands of its people. Libya, for all its current chaos, has a shot at pulling through. Syria has been reduced to a pile of ash where tyrants and terrorists forever battle to the death like some particularly cynical de Goya painting. There is no best-case scenario for them.

If you're gonna meddle in another nation's affairs, then meddle all the way. Don't just send in a handful of radios and "advisors" and act like it's gonna do anything but prolong and complicate the war.

This is a crazy stance on many levels, but I guess specifically, I'd say that it was probably more fun being in the Dark Ages where everyone *isn't* watching you suffer on TV, and you *don't* know the potential you'll never achieve, the concept of democracy *doesn't* exist yet, and the people traveling to kill you *aren't* moving at 100mph and don't have bullets and rockets.

The CIA has been training militia groups in places like this for half a century, its basically thier business.
The CIA trains them, and when they stop being useful, the military bombs them. This is nothing new.

Articles describing the exact same information have been around... well since two years ago about.

You've gotta wonder about the timing. I think it's because, as they mention in the newscast, the "tide of battle" is shifting towards the Syrian government. We had Obama, as mentioned in the video, declare the support for "non-extremist" rebels and now this. Will there be another congressional bill or something pledging more armament, or is our government cutting their losses and admitting their support in some kind of attempt to save face? A "we tried but, sadly, it wasn't enough." Maybe it's just time filler because it became too obvious. Guess it doesn't matter much at this point.

relevant/irrelevant point; CIA denies training the Ukrainian government goon squads.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-08-05

We should not get involved in this shit...

We're getting too old for it.
