Archbishop Wulfstan of York (aka Wulfstan II by Anglo-Saxonists like myself) was archbishop of York, 1002-1023; bishop of London, 996-1002; and bishop of Worcester, 1002-1016. He witnessed the invasions of Canute and other vikings, he wrote laws that are still on the books and he influenced English legislation to this very day, and he was all sorts of cool. Is Beak into pre-conquest England? If so cool.
