There hasn't been a Robin Williams movie I've watched where I didn't find his characters obnoxious and sanctimonious. Not that I've watched all his movies, I'm just not inclined to watch anything he's in.

TheOtherCapnS - 2014-08-20

Sorry, but The Fisher King. Now shush.

fluffy - 2014-08-21

also One Hour Photo.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-08-21

Also Patch Adams.

EvilHomer - 2014-08-21

Awakenings. Unless you're the sort of asshole who hates people in comas.

giygusattack - 2014-08-21

His guest spot on "Louie".

Insomnia is one of the few North American remakes that was better than the original for me, and that includes The Departed.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-08-21

World's Greatest Dad was SO underrated.

Also he did an episode of Homicide that was pretty good.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-08-21

oh also The Night Listener

AmericanAir - 2014-08-23

he made shitty movies, no question. i also believe most people with any kind of acquired perception saw something nice and warm about him. using his death to point out that you can differentiate between high and low-art seems kinda lame.

just sayin.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-08-21

Be at peace, Mr. Williams.

StanleyPain - 2014-08-21

Any Williams tribute that includes footage from Patch Adams, easily one of the worst films he ever made, is automatically retarded.

EvilHomer - 2014-08-21

You're automatically retarded.

EvilHomer - 2014-08-21

My humble tribute is here: http://fav.me/d7vzbrh

but sadly it is nowhere near as awesome as Patch Pony.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2014-08-21

That's touching EH. I like it.

Boomer The Dog - 2014-08-21

Hi Homer, you're way advanced on the Human form compared to my drawings, mine always end up with Dog faces, always.

Nice tribute, I was thinking you did a video. Did you know that Robin changed into a Dog in Mork and Mindy when they had their wedding?

EvilHomer - 2014-08-21

Hi Boomer! You do really great dogs, and you know, I think there's a good reason why all your humans wind up looking like dogs. ;) I did not know there was a dog transformation scene in Mork and Mindy, but if you can find a clip, you should submit it!

Scrotum - thank you! It's kind of simple, compositionally speaking (if I had more skill/patience, I'd have probably done some elaborate reference to his performance in "What Dreams May Come") and he looks very young, younger even than I intended. But I did sort of like how his expression came out; I've always found that to be one of my strengths. I'm not very good at accurate portraiture, or even caricature, owing to sloppy proportions and a lack of patience for measuring, but thanks to a very good reference still, I think I managed to capture at least a little bit of the joy and the sadness of Mr Williams. (see also: that painting I did of Rabbi Menachem; it's very inaccurate, his face is not nearly blocky enough, but I think the expression came out OK)

I'm kind of pissing in the Louvre at this point, though, seeing as there's been so many absolutely *brilliant* tributes to Mr Williams over the last few days!

Boomer The Dog - 2014-08-21

All of them are Dog faced, and not really Humans any more, they're mixes, hybrids. I'd love to live in a world where those existed, and also where someone could transform into a 4 legged Dog or mixed version.

The reason it would be good for me to do a decent Human is so I could draw transformation sequences, I've seen some nice ones artists have done where someone is going through the stages of turning into a Dog.

I can do it, not drawn but with CGI morphing in Photoimpact. I had an idea of finding someone who would want to change into or look like their Dog, and have them model poses that I could use in the process, both Dog and owner. I've had great success modeling out in the yard with camera on tripod and the self timer, and morphing myself with plush toy Dogs.

As for the Mork Sheepdog video, I did put it up in the Hopper a few days ago, and it's half way down the page. You can view it, and if you like transformations it might be a treat. I think it gets better as it goes on.

Thanks for your Boomer drawing too, many have seen it, posted to the Boomer fan Facebook, on my home site and podcast page where Furries would see it.

EvilHomer - 2014-08-22

You know, speaking of that, what do you think of William Wegman? Have you ever seen his photos?

Boomer The Dog - 2014-08-22

I sure have! I'm not a drop dead fan, but I like Wegman's stuff a lot, he really put me in touch with what Weimaraners are like, through the picture books, videos and the magazine articles back then. I like Wegman's approach, both entertainment and art, and that smooth Bob Ross style voice on the videos.

I like the Mork Sheepdog, and I think the mask when he's almost fully changed is great. Robin means more to me because of that episode, where I've only seen a few of his movies.
