Wow. Apparently it was a TV show and there's other versions out there. I just remember it because it was in the cheap section of the best buy, with the CD-roms with just the jewel cases in the spinny thing. I said "fuck it" and that's pretty much what I did with the game but it was worth the two whole dollars.
With the graphics being so simple, they had loads of space to toss in tons of Easter Eggs. The announcer would sometimes note the date (making fun of you for playing on Christmas or odd times of the night), when players had no idea about any of the answers on a speed round ("Player #2, you chickenshit, you didn't even buzz in ONCE!"), and then there are tons of awesome fake commercials/PSAs during the closing credits.
