Hahahahaha. Did Mac loose weight again? I haven't watched this show for years.

infinite zest - 2014-08-28

Oh. "Uploaded on Oct 2, 2010." NM is the show still any good?

Potrod - 2014-08-28

Yes, and you're missing out.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-08-28

Mac lost the weight but he's got a notable chin wattle now.

I liked the show a lot more before Devito joined. After that it seemed to become a caricature of itself, if that makes any sense.

infinite zest - 2014-08-28

haha so my typo above wasn't too far off..

SDAusmus - 2014-08-28

DeVito joined the cast in the first episode of the second season...so you only liked the first seven episodes?

infinite zest - 2014-08-28

Maybe they've already done it, but I'd like to see how the show does without DeVito in an episode or two. I like him but he is the Kramer to Charlie's George, Mac's.. uhh .. George, fuck it they're all the George. My problem with the first couple of episodes I saw in the first season was that it WAS just sort of a more edgy Seinfeld, but they've seriously evolved since then, as actors and writers.

Like Seinfeld, in that these are all horribly self centered people doing horribly self centered things. Seinfeld had more subtlety, though. On Seinfeld the characters would confide within their clique as if to get validation that being self centered pricks was socially okay. They cared about keeping up an appearance that hid their true nature to anyone outside their inner circle. With Sunny, they are just self centered pricks and don't seem to care if anyone knows it. Just as long as they don't get hurt or arrested.

With that said, I enjoy Sunny on its terms. It's a cartoon played by real-life adults, that has some great scenes filled with comedic improv dialogue, such as the example above.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-08-29

It's a deconstruction of the late 90s NBC Must See TV sitcom. All these characters do exactly the same things as on Frasier, Friends, Will and Grace, etc., but they're awful lowlives with no redeeming qualities. Even Charlie, who is the only one to cheer for, is a stalker and possibly in an incestuous relationship.

SDAusmus - 2014-08-29

There are two episodes post-season 2 where DeVito doesn't appear: "Mac's Banging the Waitress" (Frank is mentioned, but not seen) and "Paddy's Pub: The Worst Bar in Philadelphia." Both are great.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-08-28

I identify with Dennis. Too much.

chumbucket - 2014-08-29

The look he has when he uses the word.

TheOtherCapnS - 2014-08-29

The little allusions to Dennis being a serial rapist or worse are comedy gold.
