Field tested on his girlfriend.

I'm guessing in the next video our hero will tell you the difference between vaping and e-cigerettes

spikestoyiu - 2014-08-29

Fedora unboxing.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2014-08-29

Can someone explain the "IF YOU DO SOMETHING I DON'T LIKE YOU OWE ME 0,000!" thing to me? I've heard this same sort of thing rattled off in multiple sovereign citizen videos posted here.

I mean, if they consider themselves exempt from American law and not a citizen of the US, then how on earth can they claim in the same breath that you'll owe them monetary damages in a US civil court proceeding and complain about an "unlawful" search?

Is there some sort of bullshit rationale behind it all, or did they just not think these things all the way through?

cognitivedissonance - 2014-08-29

Quick answer:

The Sovereign Citizen believes in a "straw man", a legal entity which is fabricated by the government to prop economic systems. By signing a Social Security card, your "straw man" is created. By using absurd/schizophrenic legal voodoo, you can leverage against your straw man's manufacturer's suggested retail price and reap the rewards.

Of course, the exact legalese required to unlock your straw man's value has yet to be discovered, and so trial and error must be utilized like velociraptors against the electric fence of Jurassic Park. This is the central theoretical conceit of the Sovereign Citizen.

Bort - 2014-08-29

They've got a child's view of the Social Contract: since they didn't explicitly agree to the terms and conditions of living in the US, they feel they aren't bound by the law as you and I know it. So yeah, they've fanfictioned all manner of other laws that are somehow binding in ways that normal laws aren't.

Dude doesn't mind recognizing legal tender issued by the Department of the Treasury, though.

Am I a terrible person for wishing a little police brutality on sovereign citizens? I suppose I don't mind being terrible in this particular circumstance.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-08-29

You are far from a terrible person. You're normal. These fuckers a kamikazes destroying our country.

memedumpster - 2014-08-29

They're poor people who act like they're billionaires who demand the same lack of authority the rich have.

Toenails - 2014-08-29

Sovereign Citizens aren't really REAL AMERICANS (tm) anyways.

No, like, literally they aren't.

StanleyPain - 2014-08-29

It's important to note here that NO ONE has ever succeeded in using any sort of "freeman on the land" tactics successfully anywhere in the world (and yes, this happens in other countries, most notably Canada and the UK believe it or not). Most people who have made a good chunk of money off of selling books and videos about this shit have famously never used any of these legal tactics themselves and there are dozens of cases where people using this shit in a real legal situation have either failed miserably or pissed off the courts enough to make things even worse.
Even Alex Jones, of all fucking people, has been trying to talk most of his nutbag fans out of using this shit.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2014-08-29

"Who's the victim?"

"The state of Tennesse."

"Who is he?"

"It's an abstract legal entity pertaining to the general responsibility of a government to enforce its laws for the well-being of its citizens."

"Will he be in court?"

"Yes."

ashtar. - 2014-08-29

It's funny how you don't see a lot of videos of black people trying these tactics.

The Mothership - 2014-08-29

I've never seen one. If you find one you submit that shit.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-08-29

Er, one could argue that the Moorish Science Temple was doing this in the 1920s.

spikestoyiu - 2014-08-29

I think it's less about the potential beatings and more about the fact that SCs are the whitest motherfuckers ever.

fermun - 2014-08-29

The Sovereign Citizen movement actually started among white nationalists, but it has recently started gaining with crazy black people too. There was a group in Georgia who tried to steal houses with Sovereign Citizen tactics, a group who tried to defend themselves from murder and the death penalty with it, and most famously Wesley Snipes tried to stop paying taxes and have his strawman be on the hook for it instead, resulting in 3 years in prison. Most black people who do this do actually claim some connection to the Moorish Science Temple.

The God of Biscuits - 2014-08-29

So does this douchebag have a driver's license? Because he doesn't own those roads, the state of Tennessee and the Federal Government do.

SolRo - 2014-08-29

I made it to 1:23 before I mentally drew my service pistol and shot him in the face

fluffy - 2014-08-29

That's about where I gave up too

Toenails - 2014-08-29

Sovereign Citizens' number 1 threat: Getting pulled over because they are driving like an idiot.

BTW, this guy said a business card is a valid form of ID. Now, more than ever, I am tempted to printing up "Moe Szyslak: Looking for Amanda Hugginkiss" business cards I've been thinking about for the past few months.

exy - 2014-08-29

This is the dumbest thing that I haven't watched quite yet.

exy - 2014-08-29

This guy can't even convince a video camera. I'm sure the cop will be impressed.

Maru - 2014-08-29

You guys are going to be really surprised when we reach a critical mass of these guys and there ends up being a giant upheaval of the British and United States legal systems.

oddeye - 2014-08-30

Certainly, if by surprise you mean "confirm my fears and send me into a spiral of absolute depression".

The Mothership - 2014-08-29

Ok, I'll sign it.

oddeye - 2014-08-30

"blah blah sovereign something something government blah blah common law something blah detained blah etc." - every one of these fuckers on anything, ever.

Invoking the Divine Alphabet in order to get you out of a traffic ticket, how irresponsible! Revoke your Sorcerer License immediately. Unless you are a sovereign sorcerer......

Mother_Puncher - 2014-08-30

Even the girlfriend posing as an officer goes to jail.

Syd Midnight - 2014-09-03

It's generally a good thing when sovereign citizens are angry about a law, because they're probably the kind of person that law was designed to protect everyone else from, and their frustration means it is working.
