This guy basically got majorly fucked over; read up on his legal case.
Whatever you think of the asshole he was in contact with or his reasons for using him to supposedly spy on his ex-wife, the case against him was largely just trumped up bullshit.
Also bullshit is his claim that 80% of the prisoners at his prison were oppressed brown and black people on fallguy drug charges.
He makes this sound like Rikers Island:
The Great Hippo
So, as I understand it, not only did McTiernan claim the agent never identified themselves as such -- not only did the government fail to produce any evidence that such an utterance occurred -- not only did the government's star witness sign a statement that there was no evidence that the utterance was false -- but, apparently, after saying some shit about prosecutorial misconduct online, the government mysteriously quadrupled the charges against him.
America: Where you can be sent to jail for saying 'No' to a stranger on the phone -- even if there's no evidence you said it -- even if the 'No' was possibly true. And if you try to criticize that, we'll double your sentence.
And people wonder why so many people hate the 'justice' system.
baleen will come around once the feds start calling people "hipsters".
I sort of want to hear more about why he was willing to tell people about his contracting Pellicano to investigate his wife but not his employee? What happened there?
It's a white collar minimum security prison guys, not a place where they put ghetto minorities on drug charges.
Suck my balls.
The Great Hippo
Sure, maybe his claims are based on bullshit observations. But I honestly don't care: If they're willing to do this to *this* guy, just imagine what they'll do to you if you're poor with no rich friends to speak up for you.
However you look at it, this story clearly highlights the petty vindictiveness of our justice system.
