Even if they'd managed to actually impersonate Williams' voice worth a damn that would not have been very good.

infinite zest - 2014-09-05

Meeting you halfway fluffy. It's predictable but I like the sentiment.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-09-05

Don't be so stuffy, fluffy.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-09-05

I suppose this is a bad time to admit this, but I thought it was really Robin Williams,

But it's not. Might have given it one less out of disappointment if fluffy hadn't gotten so huffy.

infinite zest - 2014-09-05

I figured it was Williams too. Shortly before he took his life this segment was aired on BBC, so theories started popping up. I never watched it out of respect. I didn't read the articles but assumed the ending was something FG (or the Simpsons) would do: put all the Williams under a glass dome and let them destroy themselves or something in a Stephen King-esque way. It would've been funny in 2012 when the episode came out. It would've been appropriate 2 months ago. I mean, the man was brilliant but he was in some shitty movies and I think we can all agree on that. Tim and Eric also did a Robin Williams bit as well, where Tim gets a Robin Williams for his birthday and it runs around the office like a stray cat nobody wants around. I know most of y'all don't like that show either, but even when it aired years I thought it was pretty distasteful. That being said, the ending, and the respect given to the man, in life, is very thoughtful.

fluffy - 2014-09-06

It wouldn't have been funny even when any of the references being made were current.

BorrowedSolution - 2014-09-06

This is just bad. I voted it out of the hopper because it deserves to be here, but come on, now. And you thought it was really Robin Williams? Is you retarded?

dairyqueenlatifah - 2014-09-05

It hurts.

Hooker - 2014-09-05

Yeah, that's Family Guy alright.

memedumpster - 2014-09-05

Okay, I will see what all the hate's about... "you were in a coma..." made me laugh, the rest was good for Family Guy.

The Mothership - 2014-09-05

Oh look, Meg's one of the sensitive bearded Robin Williams characters. That was pretty good.

Pope Caius - 2014-09-05

It's incredibly not bad.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-09-05

Hey, it's Hooker! Hi, buddy!

I suppose this is a bad time to admit this, but I thought it was really Robin Williams,

But it's not. Might have given it one less out of disappointment if fluffy hadn't gotten so huffy. A pretty good application of the basic premise of 70 percent of all Twilight Zone episodes, and 75 per cent of all "Treehouse of Horror" segments.

fluffy - 2014-09-06

What does Boxxy think about this clip, JHM? Does Boxxy love Family Guy unconditionally?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-09-06

Catie once described Seth McFarland as her "celebrity crush". I guess that makes some sense; he's not a bad looking guy, but I still consider that one of her rare moments of uncoolness. Her mom is also really into Seth mcFarland

I enjoyed this clip, but i really haven't been able to watch Family Guy since Peter killed Quagmire's cat.

I And I wouldn't have submitted it of I hadn't thought that Robin Williams had done the voice. I guess you didn't think it was any good, so I guess maybe I should be embarrassed. But I don't think Williams would have had a problem with that at all. My sense is that he would have loved it.

infinite zest - 2014-09-06

Seth's a "funnyman" and is perfect for hosting things like the Oscars, just like Billy Crystal. He's also got an amazing singing voice. He's also aware that tons of people hate his show but they watch it anyway. Boxxy's appreciation might stem from that: a feeling of being proud of yourself even if tons of trolls are gonna depreciate what you do.

That guy - 2014-09-06

oh jesus
for all this and for IZ 'not watching a clip out of respect'

fluffy - 2014-09-06

It really sounded nothing like him, JHM. But I have a pretty good ear for voices (part of how my brain compensates at being total shit for faces, I guess).

EvilHomer - 2014-09-06

Are you kidding? Peter killing Quagmire's cat was one of the only genuinely funny moments in Family Guy.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-09-05

I made it to about forty seconds in. The writing for this show is so awful it astounds me.

oddeye - 2014-09-05

I don't understand how this complete shit is popular.

memedumpster - 2014-09-05

If you mean six million out of three hundred million people makes something popular, then Family Guy is less popular than Herman Cain.

infinite zest - 2014-09-05

As a caregiver, one of my clients loves this show so we watch it together, and often I get a chance to point out the references, which are sometimes pretty esoteric. Sometimes it's the Flintstones (which everybody ostensibly gets) sometimes it's Gore Vidal (who was actually on the show) which few people get. Given my clientele I appreciate the opportunity to explain said jokes. A lot of people watch it to see the baby try to kill the mom, fart jokes and referential bullshit but I see it under a bit of a more pedagogical lens. It's not brilliant writing, but reading a quarter of Gravitys Rainbow and understanding it while mega baked and forgetting it the next morning isn't either. (In walks Pynchon. "Goddamnit! The book's about firing v2's with your boners!! Get over it you fucking hipsters!!")

oddeye - 2014-09-06

6 out of 300 million? What are you talking about, US viewing figures? If so can you really judge it's popularity based on that simple ratio alone?Damn show is in other countries too.

That guy - 2014-09-06

re: seeing family guy through a pedablablable lens:

eat poop IZ

memedumpster - 2014-09-06

Of course I just meant America. If you're saying that other countries watch this show more than we do, then you sort of just said that America is the best country of all those who watch family guy, since we watch it the least per capita.

I am sorry you live in such an awful country.

EvilHomer - 2014-09-06

I'm going to five star this, because it led me to the latest conspiracy theory: this sequence predicted Robin Williams' suicide. Thanks, Illuminati!
