I always feel like Tim and Eric would be funnier if they got rid of the jokes.

It's a funny concept, but I just think it'd be funnier without the excessive glitchiness, autotune and whatever else they throw in. Just tell a joke about child clown emporiums. Speaking of Tim and Eric without the jokes? Have you seen The Comedy? It's not Tim and Eric, and certainly not a comedy. It's one of my favorite movies and really made me appreciate Tim's range as an actor.

I mean, the concept really never made sense to me: if anything, the show's sort of a parody of old things you might find on VHS or public access, not a scratched DVD or a bad Digital TV connection. Regardless, the Bread Harrity bit is still one of the finest bits of television comedy ever, and I will take that opinion to my grave. Don't kill me!

I read part of an interview with Tim someplace where he said that their show is about the myth of celebrity and the brutal annihilation of the self that people undergo in pursuit of it. Or something to that effect.

Interesting. What I like about Tim is that you can never tell if he's serious or not. If that was anyone else I'd be like "pretentious asshole.. your show's about kittens and rainbows and weird celebrity references." Problem is, when he tells something more serious, like his account of his stabbing, I didn't take that seriously either until he apparently showed the scar. Even then, it could've been a fake scar. The rest of the act was pretty much him talking about why Obama was the worst president ever and dropping the mic (literally.) I'd like to think that it was true, like "why would you make that up if it's not even a joke" but I'm attracted to him for that Boy Who Cried Wolf quality.

I mean, not physically, well maybe a little. Handsome gent he is. But if you like philosophical ramblings like that, then I'd really recommend The Comedy. The soundtrack's probably the best I've ever heard in a film and the plot is what Ellis' Less Than Zero's film adaptation should have been.

They just like absurdly fucking around. I never understood why this was so hard for so many people to grasp.
