So, my ultimate dream vehicle is a Ford Explorer painted like the tour vehicles in "Jurassic Park" with these bad boys in place of regular wheels hauling one of those Australian UEV camper trailers.

Correct.

Class, any questions?

DriverStabby - 2014-09-12

You'll need a chinese military shovel.

That guy - 2014-09-13

Bonus points to Mr.Stabby.

Now does anyone know what the ultimate dream sandwich is?

The Mothership - 2014-09-12

Top speed of 40mph so not a great choice for commuting, but damn if that doesn't look cool on a truck.

Old_Zircon - 2014-09-12

Think of all the poor Johnny Fives that died to make those.

oddeye - 2014-09-12

On the plus side these things can keep WALL-E going another 700 years.

Maggot Brain - 2014-09-12

Just because someone says that they feel "alive" doesn't mean they are.

DriverStabby - 2014-09-12

For you, Zircon.

oddeye - 2014-09-12

What about those HK-501 whatever tank things from terminator?

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2014-09-12

I can fap to this.

Callamon - 2014-09-12

How about I don't drive like an asshole and make it across that field with regular tires just fine.

EvilHomer - 2014-09-12

I really like the Youtube arguments. This video seems to have a struck a chord with tire nerds.

"Manufactured in Minnesota"

Ah, that explains a lot. I remember seeing many vehicles kitted out like this on the lakes during ice fishing season when I was a kid. Lodges would usually trick out a few vans with these to take guests out to the ice houses.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-09-13

The guy who designed them did so after his eleven-year-old son, Matt, drew a picture of a truck with mini tank treads where the wheels should be. Luckily, dad was an engineer and when he looked at the drawing thought it might be possible to actually make the things in real life.

You see these at ski resorts too. Whistler-Blackcomb has a few suburban-SUV-type vehicles with tracks. I guess it bridges the gap between a snowmobile and a big snowcat.
