Yeah. I saw Art Spiegelman talk one time and he mentioned that his favorite comic book hero is Plastic Man. I've seen him pop up once in a while, I think most recently on Teen Titans Go but never bothered to pursue it, even though Spiegelman's one of my favorite cartoonists. This is "bad" (great) but it's not Wondertwins, which is "bad" (bad.)
I like how DC's finally found a balance in shows like Brave and the Bold and TTG, but in a way this seems to be an early example of that shift. It just, um, well, you're looking at it.
I'd still be pretty appalled if I was mom and dad. I mean, that's like enrolling a newborn into pop warner league just because grandpa says "that boy's gonna be a football player."
For a moment I thought this was something akin to a Venture Brothers-esque parody of silly 60s and 70s cartoons, and a well done parody at that. Then I realized it was too perfect and that it had to be real and original. And then I was happy.
