Probably funnier in the context of the show, doesn't stand as well on its own as say Bird up.

I don't think "context" is in this show's lexicon. That being said, Bird Up and most of the other breakaways are a lot better, and I feel like I saw this on some other show a long time ago. But I have to give Andre five stars always. Most of that's white guilt.

Well, this clip probably comes before or after some screaming, some cheesy gore, some barely censored nudity, a girl being poked in the ass in her seat and or forced to eat suggestively, a guest who seems to be strung out on drugs, someone they randomly picked off the street, some act of senseless violence, some other statements about racism, or a reference to weed. Anything like that coming before or after this clip would probably have made me enjoy it more. That or a blunt and not seeing this at 8 am when I'm at my pissiest.

IZ: Perhaps this is what you were thinking of? It's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this.

YES!!!!!!!! But it wasn't K&P. It was more Andre's style. I won't loose sleep over it, or will I? Thanks for reminding me of this sketch though!

Were you thinking about Andre's appearance on Conan, by any chance?

I figured it out, and I think it was just in my head. I was discussing Choke with the author at this little dive bar by my house (we used to be neighbors) and more than anything else, the Colonial Times part at the beginning got to me: how much it would suck to have a job like that and the things running through your mind, and how the pro(an?)tagonist would've loved some sort of Tom Green-esque stunt like this to happen in the middle of the day when everyone's in character.

Sim it's not completely original, you're right. Like Tim and Eric, it takes from decades of influence, in both cases public access. There used to be this show called the Chess Show, which was supposed to be a call-in chess show (one side of the river representing one color, which is pretty de trop in Portland for reasons I probably don't have to get into.) I used to perform on there quite a bit and the show was a fucking mess. The set would be half-destroyed by the end, and usually only a few call-in moves were actually made. That, and our famous nudist talk show guy, who got arrested for interviewing children at a parade with no pants or underwear (with the words "MUFF DIVER" at the bottom of the screen) defending himself in the name of free speech.

I grew up on that stuff, and I'm sure most cities had something similar. Andre's just tapping into that and turning it into a "mainstream" thing. Personally I love it, because I hate talk shows (I can tolerate early Conan but that's it.)

I have been waiting for black people to do this since forever. I wish they'd do it in larger amounts.

I've seen horrible people do Civil War reenactments in person. They all should have this happen to them.
