People pointed that out, and it devolved into the usual "I bet it's the DEMONCRAPS party that did it! It doesn't matter anyway, because both parties are RUN BY SATANNNN!"

It's amazing how when there are two prominent establishments and the religious can't adhere to the one they thought they liked, they both get to be tools of the devil. I imagine everything eventually becomes satanic, down to brands of clothing they think are too expensive or toothpaste that's the wrong color.

When we were tiny children, my mom used to tell my sister and I that stars with circles around them were all satanitc, but ones with circles around them and the point sticking down were ESPECIALLY evil.

But just plain old upside down stars are satanic too? News to me.

IIRC, the pentacle or star was once a Christian symbol (each point representing one of Christ's wounds or the crown of thorns), and appeared in such works as "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" as one of the logos of the good guys.

Making it Satanic by turning it upside-down was probably the whole "if 1 is good, -1 is evil" things and someone grafted the idea that the inverted pentagram looked like a horned goat head onto the icon.

I love it when Christians say an inverted cross is Satanic (something Doom got wrong, too) when it was originally the Cross of St. Peter, inverted because Pete was crucified upside-down.

It's all a load of rubbish, but interesting rubbish.
