Always remember to wear proper eye protection when you're wasting irreplaceable rockets blowing up a deserted village.

That burnt out village will make an amazing basecamp.

This.

The safety glasses are a nice touch.

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-09-30

He looks like a west coast retiree sitting outside his RV on US101.

I considered renting this once just to see how bad it was, I expected something roughly SyFy channel level, but jesus this is even beyond my expectations.

oddeye - 2014-09-30

This is the movie Fist of the North Star should have been. Also, why not blow a hole in the wall there you inconsiderate bastard.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-09-30

That poor villager was wearing a vest made out of bath mats.

Some of Bill Maher's best work!

"Sir? Which is harder to get in the post-apocalypse? A handy torch and someone willing to burn down a village, or a bunch of guided missiles?"

"Shut up!"

*BANG!"

Binro the Heretic - 2014-09-30

I'd forgotten how much influence "The Road Warrior" had on late 1980s/early 1990s post-apocalyptic movies.

Back then, we never even considered the idea of an Earth overrun by jungles or grasslands. Everything was going to be deserts.

hammsangwich - 2014-09-30

Check out "Neon City". Michael Ironside and Creed from The Office in a bit part.

oddeye - 2014-09-30

Although plenty of "future sucks" movie are set in city ruins or sterile dome, I think Waterworld was the first post-apoc movie I'd seen not set in a desert.

infinite zest - 2014-09-30

Yeah I think you're right. I'd say A Boy and His Dog and Wizards as preceding examples, but I saw Waterworld way before I saw those. I still want to get my Waterworld treasure map tattoo.

infinite zest - 2014-09-30

hmm.. come to think of it, I guess Boy and his Dog did meet the city ruins part of your argument, sort of.. it's been a while. Umm.. Planet of the Apes? I mean, they blew it up, but the book's a lot more ape-forward than the movie, almost like Logan's Run.

blue vein steel - 2014-10-01

maybe a pushing the boundaries, but Silent Running is set in space, although it may ass well be a dome city.
