This one wins. No point in submitting any more ASMR after this.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-10-19

All these things that are supposed to trigger ASMR are like nails on a blackboard to me.

Seriously, ONE SECOND into the video, the only thought in my head is CHEW WITH YOUR GOD-DAMNED MOUTH CLOSED, MOTHER-FUCKER!

Sputum - 2014-10-19

pretty sure this one is a joke

baleen - 2014-10-19

This is a parody.
Does anything relax you Binro?

poorwill - 2014-10-19

I know what would relax Binro: a roundhouse kick to his FAT STUPID FACE!!!!!!!!!

oddeye - 2014-10-19

stay loose bro

ashtar. - 2014-10-20

Remember to drink plenty of fluids.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-10-20

Sorry, but so far, every ASMR video posted here features lip-smacking sounds and whispering, both of which drive me up the wall. How was I supposed to know, therefore, this was a "joke" version featuring smacking sounds and whispering?

baleen - 2014-10-20

WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY

fluffy - 2014-10-20

The whisper-talking is a vital component of ASMR.

The lip-smacking and throat noises are just ineptitude on the part of most ASMR practitioners.

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-10-20

I've got to agree with Eeyore on this one. Real or fake ASMR video, there is little difference.

I know the feeling though, and can engage it at will. For me it's a consequence of thinking certain thoughts. None of these clips have ever done it for me. Nails on blackboard, in fact.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-10-20

Baleen,

Instrumental music relaxes me. It can be classical music, progressive rock, space music or electronica. Anything that lets my mind drift without making it picture some specific thing will do.

If I sit in a recliner with instrumental music playing and no other sound, except perhaps for a fan on the lowest setting, I can trigger the goose-pimple sensation that people are saying is ASMR.

baleen - 2014-10-19

God I love ASMR.

Braze - 2014-10-19

This is perfect

ashtar. - 2014-10-19

It's like I'm RIGHT THERE.

infinite zest - 2014-10-20

I was diagnosed with Synesthesia years ago so I don't deny the existence of ASMR, as my condition was pretty much a myth until the late 80s or so, but when they showed me a video or something, I'd get nothing. I sort of feel the same way with these videos (not this one, the real ones.) I think most of us enjoy being whispered to by their partner, or in some cases a good friend when you need cheering up, etc. I know I do, but the videos just make me immediately claustrophobic, kind of like watching POV porn vs. regular porn.

BHWW - 2014-10-20

How do you pronounce it anyways? Do you speak the individual letters "Ay, Ess Em, Arr" or do you pronounce it like "Ass Mir", or "Oz-murr"...

infinite zest - 2014-10-20

It's an acronym (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) but I think people generally pronounce it "ay (like the fonz) - smar"

Aubrey McFate - 2014-10-23

Sucks to your ASMR!

Aubrey McFate - 2014-10-20

Oh hey, it's docfuture!
