It turns out that we don't live in the 50s anymore, and most young parents I know have a rule: they pretty much casually swear in front of their babies, and once they learn to talk make sure to mention that there's words that you don't say in certain places. Then there's the "playground" logic. I learned "fuck" on the playground and some other words. The one time I got sent home from school was when I called a kid a "bastard," because I literally didn't know what it meant. The principal sat me down and told me, and I've never said it again. Same with other words like "faggot, retard, slut, whore" and the racially charged ones. "Fuck's" not a bad word. We're just conditioned to think it is. It has a power to get a point across though ("did you read this book? It was great" vs. "did you read this book? it was fucking great!") and can be used as a sexual device ("I want to have sex with you" vs. "I want to fuck you") but I'm no less comfortable hearing the word coming from a 6 year old's mouth than I am from Glenn's (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he swears quite a bit on this show.)

If the campaign was different, like "Hate is Retarded" then that's where I'd draw a line. These are just cool fucking kids with fucking cool parents.
