Minus 5 for shitty video. Plus 5 for hometown nostalgia.

Minus five for a shitty town. Plus five for Amy Jo.

Minus 5 for the Minus 5. Plus 5 for their fantastic 2004 album 'Down with Wilco.'

Dinkin Flicka - 2014-11-15

The Minus 5 sucks, dude. I don't know why Mike Mills bothers.

Dinkin Flicka - 2014-11-15

Oops, it's Peter Buck. SHOWS HOW MUCH I GIVE A FUCK

boner - 2014-11-15

The religious nuts at yonge & dundas are much more entertaining.

Peter's actually a pretty cool guy. He DJs next door to a bar I like to frequent and is really good at pinball. But last good thing Minus 5 was associated with that I listened to was Ole Tarantula, which was pretty terrible even though I like Robyn Hitchcock a bunch.

I would love to see her battling Rob Ford.

infinite zest - 2014-11-15

Rob and Doug Ford combined would outmatch most of Rita Repulsa's monsters. They've already grown, amirite?

Isn't he *still* their mayor? Toronto is either the worst city or the best city, with that in mind.

Retardo Montebaun - 2014-11-15

as an Albertan, I can honestly say it's only slightly worse than Calgary

infinite zest - 2014-11-15

I guess it depends on what you want out of the mayor. I'd be lying if I said I didn't find Marion Barry pretty fascinating, for the same reason as Ford. But then again, I've never been to DC or Toronto. I think the larger the city, the less fun having a comedic mayor becomes.

Old People - 2014-11-16

Ford's on his way out, thank God, and his fat gangster brother failed in his bid to replace him. New guy starts December 1st; his name's John Tory and he's a moderate conservative (by Canadian standards. In America, he'd be an average Democrat) who will probably be fine for Toronto.

Old_Zircon - 2014-11-16

If we'd elected Buddy Cianci AGAIN I think we'd have Toronto beat, but he lost. Nobody seemed to mind that he raped a woman at gunpoint way back; later on when he was mayor and got convicted for having the local police hold a guy down while he beat him almost to death it raised some eyebrows but he still got re-elected; last time around he was convicted of running a full-on mafia style extortion racket out of city hall, and to be honest I don't think even that has as much to do with him losing this time as people think.
