I never understood Bubsy. Sonic had speed, Mario had charisma, and Crash Bandicoot and the rest were just good games. It probably doesn't help that the only one I played was Bubsy 3D..

Yikes. I had to watch another one to make sure that wasn't the actual frame rate. It looks like your standard platformer, like Gex, Acro the Acrobat, a million others I'm leaving out.. not bad formulaic 2D platforming. But Gex had Dana Gould and Acro the Acrobat had.. ok I don't know what that game had but I rented it anyway. This is just like Heathcliff's attitude with the boring mix of platforming, and for whatever reason, flying.

Ha! Aero the Acrobat. These were both thrift-store games I got stuck with as a kid. I wasted so much time trying to convince my friends (and myself) that Bubsy was a good game, and then I gave up and smashed the cartridge out back with a hammer.

Actually I was trying to call attention to the entry saying "Busby" when it should be "Bubsy".

Bubsy seems to expend a lot of energy convincing us he's a worthy protagonist. You might even call him proactive.

Wow no shit. He was (is) kinda in.. everything ever. I would've never thought that Raphael from TMNT and Arthur from The Tick were the same voice.

It's off topic, but I was playing a show in Los Angeles and turned out talking to someone after the show who mentioned he did voice acting (one of the things I do is help for a live radio show.. think the skits from Garrison Keillor but a lot dirtier) and he said he'd like to help out, and that he was the original voice of Dennis the Menace in the cartoon. Anyway, he gave me his card and I totally didn't make the connection until way later but he's Alan Thicke's son and Robin Thicke's brother. The entire time he didn't mention any of that. He's really cool.

Okay just a coincidence but I happened to look at the Robin Williams on Family Guy thing again tonight and you were all "oh wow I had no idea that wasn't Robin Williams."

By that same token, what I was getting at here is that Rob Paulsen's voices all sound the same as each other.

I think you might not be very good at recognizing voices.

(To be fair, many well-known voice actors only have one or two voices that they do. Not everyone can be Billy West or Hank Azaria.)

Also I'm pretty sure that people who are trying to make a name for themselves aren't going to name-drop their more successful relatives at parties or whatever.

Was this before or after Crash Bandicoot failed to resonate?
