? He's practically a millionaire by Internet income standards.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-12-09

Noooooooooooooooooo... I hope to see him on another video site then, posting 60 minute long videos about adding yet another useless background feature to Platform Masters or topping out a level 9999 character in some JRPG I've never heard of. Goodnight sweet Udawg.

infinite zest - 2014-12-09

He's on Dailymotion now, which kinda sucks because all the ads really slow down my PC. But he's got a puppy now!

chumbucket - 2014-12-09

His gripes sound legit but to cut and run, the terrorists win.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2014-12-09

His gripes really aren't legit. If he's unable to set a custom thumbnail or upload a video longer than 15 minutes, then his account either has a strike against it already or he's not verified something he should have. I'm still able to, and my channel is tiny. Plus, it doesn't look like he's monetizing that much, so in the past 28 days sounds plausible if he doesn't have much monetized in the first place.

Honestly, I think he's just rage quitting.

yogarfield - 2014-12-09

I tend to agree with Harriet(ty) here.

A few weeks back I was sick, and in a fit of boredom looked up the Ulillillia thread on SA. Apparently he's been in talks with some of them and earlier this year he made an Amazon list for his birthday. Some people bought him things (possibly including an expensive audio card that he didn't really need) and if they are to be believed, he was thankless yet started asking for more. Some of them tend to think he's achieved a sort of diva status, but these are goons so I take their opinions with several grains of salt. Then there is his failed documentary. Long story short, we may be entering a more pissy phase of the Ulillillia. Or he wants to post more adult-oriented content.

There is probably a fairly easy workaround to be had for his problems, and with his viewcounts he should be making more, but Udawg wouldn't be Udawg if he didn't do everything in the most senselessly obtuse way imaginable. Playing life on Hard Mode, now on Dailymotion.

yogarfield - 2014-12-09

Also his commentary sounds more and more like two people having a conversation.

U-A: My youtube has come to an end.

U-B: An end? What's going on?

U-A: Well...

boner - 2014-12-09

Well, not only did he get the sound card, he did a video where he installs it, and he was pretty grateful in that video.

His current thing is raising funds for a micro 4/3 camera and some lenses.

yogarfield - 2014-12-09

Like I said, it was a goon saying this.

Still, dude doesn't need a micro 4/3's and lenses. The simpler his setup, the better.

boner - 2014-12-09

The goons, eh. So they've been sending electronics to a guy whose caretaker sister is having trouble paying for shelter and food.

fluffy - 2014-12-09

Wait, failed documentary? What happened to it?

yogarfield - 2014-12-10

@boner: Exactly my point. From what I gleamed they are in some dire financial straits. The last thing they needed was a pricey audio card. How about setting up a pizza fund?

@fluffy: It seems they have left the project, which is probably for the best. I always felt they were trying to exploit him, then the flood happened and they couldn't come up with a narrative that could simultaneously paint him as both freak and victim.

He's not wrong that the YT comment system sucks, especially with the Google+ integration.

Not that anyone should read YT comments in the first place, but still...

HarrietTubmanPI - 2014-12-09

It's not great, but people are still able to leave comments and reply. I think his complaints are a bit over the top.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-12-09

It sounds to me like he was flagged for something. You lose the ability to go over 15 minutes and do custom thumbnails if someone lodged a copyright complain against you. At least that's how it happened to me. You get it back after 6 months.

The thing about Google plus, is that it cuts down on repeat traffic since people have their discussions on Google plus instead of in the comments for the videos, and at least in theory, this could really kill a whole lot of revenue for content providers. I've seen tubers complaining about a drop in traffic and this seems like one possible source.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-12-09

He wished me happy birthday on Facebook.

I will go to my grave feeling like the luckiest birthday boy IN THE WORLD.

yogarfield - 2014-12-10

Screencap or GTFO

Sputum - 2014-12-10

I got one of these two, followed by a really awkward chat about arcades and tree rendering.
