This movie was worth it alone for the homoerotic taekwondo demonstration for the Supreme Commander along with the lovely sweeping death scenes.

This is really interesting. I just skipped around but it's a view of North Korea that I haven't seen before, with the streets full of bikes and plenty of restaurants and food carts. That Vice documentary was interesting because it was the opposite of that (the scene that got to me the most was the banquet room with every table sat with food and drink, when the dude was the only guy there. Well that and the lonely tea girl.) I know this is a movie and the other one was real life, but I get the feeling that this is more like normal life in North Korea (without the fisticuffs) and they were stepping on eggshells because they were told that an American was going to be there in the doc. We used to have the same thing in Madison called "Roll Out the Red Carpet" which was a PSA to be on your best behavior when somebody important, like a presidential candidate, was in town, and they'd just go ahead and detain transients and give a nice slap on the wrist to any student who might want to be an "agitator." It was more like your mom telling you to comb your hair than North Korea's enforcement, but still.
