My 14 year old self was learning how to make video games, because I thought I'd want to be a games programmer for a living.

This was before my 27 year old self learned that no, I didn't.

Yeah, nothing crushes your dreams faster than the reality of what you have to go through in order to pursue some of them. Disenfranchised level/character designer here.

I've done a pretty good job f fulfillng my 14 year old ambition of just playing music all the time.


Haven't figured out a way to not be chronically broke doing it, though.

I used to write and program little QBasic games around that age too. But yeah then I just focused on music and musical education, ironically by dropping my music major in college for a philosophy and comparative literature degree.. so I still want to write write write video games, movies, you name it.. music's just easier to write for me.. even though my band's mostly paid in PBR and usually spend more on gas to get there than we make. I still think poeTV needs to form some crowdsourced band and make more games; Dukes of Hell is lonely over there :)
