He walks into the recording booth. Everybody is so excited. They can't believe they got the great Alfred Hitchcock to record a promo spot. He's calm, professional, but deep inside he can't believe how far he's fallen--that he's been reduced to this. He begins the session. Everything is great. It all goes so smoothly. It comes time to record the last line. He takes a deep breath. He begins to speak. It's the sonorous voice of the great Alfred Hitchcock we all know and love. "...On the Universal Studios..." But he stops short. The recording tech and producer and director of the commercial look up startled. Why didn't he say the last word? A smile broadens across Hitchcock's face. He slowly turns around, goes home, lies down in bed, and promptly dies.
