When I was a Freshman in college I totally fucked up and forgot to book plane tickets from Wisconsin to Oregon, because I was too busy studying.. yeah.. that's why.. and everything was closed for Christmas. I was living in the dorms still so I couldn't cook and my only friend was a half bottle of tequilla, and frankly I didn't like the clique-ness of dorm life. Anyway I decided to go out on a walk alone, and I stumbled across some people having a snowball fight in a run-down mansion off-campus drinking beer and gifting each other stuff, smoking weed, and that mansion turned out to be the cooperative I'd live in for most of my college years and pretty much how I met all of my friends. I love my family, but not being home for Christmas that year was a blessing in disguise.
