race?

The 458 Italia is really only the "base model" Ferrari with a top speed of "only" 202mph and I don't think he's even trying to reach the top speed. The current Ferrari supercar/hypercar is the (badly named, I admit) LaFerrari which can squeeze out 15 more miles per hour, or 217mph if you suck at math.

Even if the Hayabusa was faster, I'd still rather have the Ferrari becausem y'know, seatbelts, stability, and interior comfort. Although, out of the current Ferrari lineup, I'd much rather have the Ferrari FF than a 458, for winter driving and practicality.

My next band: Practical Ferrari

The Ferrari is like the worst of both worlds.

It's slower than the motorcycle, massively more expensive, and less practical than pretty much any normal car.

Using it as a daily driver (or any public road driving, honestly) is like using a 16th century samurai sword to butter your toast.

The Hayabusa just has a better power to weight ratio than the Ferrari and produces much more torque per pound too so it accelerates much faster.

The Hayabusa power to weight ratio is something like 1:3.475, or 1hp to every 3.475lbs. Torque is 1:5.686.

The Ferrari 458 power to weight ratio is something like 1:5.825, or 1hp to every 5.825lbs. Torque is 1:8.226.

An aside to illustrate the significance of these ratios, when you see a Bugatti loose in a drag race of some sort, it's because the opposing vehicle has a better torque to weight ratio and thus it can accelerate quicker in a shorter period of time, causing it cross the line before the Bugatti. But if the track is long enough the Bugatti wins because it produces more hp to weight. Usually between 1:3.468 and 1:4.162 depending on the model.

*My figures are for a stock bike. They don't even take into account what kind of power a turbo is producing.

SolRo - 2015-02-17

the first site I found sells kits that go up to 500 hp

SolRo - 2015-02-17

and a new bike with the most expensive turbo kit still costs less than a Ferrari brake pad and rotor replacement.

Well, Hayabusa's gotta be fast if he wants to rescue Irene from the foul clutches of Ashtar and dodge all of those annoying attack-birds.

Just as I thought... Good... Continue the plan... No further need for him. At least, not for now. Follow the plan exactly. Now go. The time shall come... when the Gate of Darkness is cast open... All men shall kneel before me... All shall hail me, Ashtar, as their new master! HA HA HA HA....

Just be careful out there, it's a windy one. The weatherman says plenty of gusts from both left and right. God I hated that level.
