Wow.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-02-21

I said the same thing when Wikipedia told me this guy has released 30 albums and counting.

I remember the one song because it was during the time Metallica were all pissed off about file sharing. Pot calling the kettle black, sure (Metallica pretty much got their start through bootleg tape sharing) but everybody I knew Freshman year of college had this song and nobody paid for it! Fuck some multi platinum multi millionaires, what about Afroman? Oh well, now I'm glad nobody paid for it.

EvilHomer - 2015-02-22

My most vivid memory of Afroman was wandering around BestBuy about two months after that song came out, and seeing an entire rack of shelves filled with unsold Afroman singles - marked down 80%, but to no avail.

Maggot Brain - 2015-02-21

Can't sneak up on a brother like that.

Seems like his career was making a bit of a comeback with that NORML ad. This really makes Fat Mike and Ben Weasel's behavior almost acceptable in comparison. Like, I've seen plenty of security at larger punk shows rough up boys and girls who get on stage, and then they're just the nameless bouncer asshole who gave them a black eye. It's kind of like getting a Germs burn or something. But.. this.. I don't know. Also, don't read the YT comments unless you want to buy a new monitor.

yogarfield - 2015-02-21

The shrug at the end.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-02-21

I bet the Youtube comments are full of wonderful, level headed, and well intentioned insight on race relations and gender politics.

ashtar. - 2015-02-21

Yes, but how can one simultaneously blame women AND blacks for this incident?

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-02-21

I'm sure if you read through the pages upon pages of Stormfront comments you'll find out.

infinite zest - 2015-02-21

His last tweet, from the night of the incident reads "Because I didn't get high." Oh lordy lord.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2015-02-21

Sort of shocked that he'd go on stage in a suit. Is that new?

infinite zest - 2015-02-21

There's a slightly longer one that includes some guy (possibly the boyfriend) getting up on stage and sort of confronting Afroman before helping her off stage while he keeps playing.. the "I don't give a fuck" attitude pisses me off even more. That being said, the girl can take a punch. I dunno if I'd be up on my feet that quickly.

That guy - 2015-02-21

I'm having trouble believing that her boyfriend went up on stage without going full nuclear.

Chancho - 2015-02-21

Her boyfriend pussied out. He put up his hands in a "Don't hit me please" pose and walked his girlfriend off stage.

This girl will get a huge payday if she plays her cards right. KA-CHING!

Oktay - 2015-02-21

It's in there towards the end, just gotta sit through 10,000 repetitions of the punch.

infinite zest - 2015-02-21

Assuming Afroman has any money left.. I'm assuming he (probably literally) blazed through however millions of dollars he got from "How I got High" and that was like 15 years ago. Oh well, go get 'em girl! He's one of the few individuals in this world that I'd actually like to see living on the streets.

kingarthur - 2015-02-21

This happened two blocks from my house!

kingarthur - 2015-02-21

And on Mardi Gras.

infinite zest - 2015-02-21

Oh so THAT's why so many of my friends are in NOLA. I know it's good for businesses and everything, but is it annoying like Portland's Rose Festival or any town that's a Spring Break destination? Here all the sailors are on shoreleave and there's always big fights and it's impossible to get anywhere.

infinite zest - 2015-02-21

Oh NM, it says Biloxi Mississippi. I saw Mardi Gras and sort of assumed New Orleans, like they're the only place that celebrates it. It barely registers for me up North though. I haven't seen a single bead necklace, and haven't for several years. Maybe I'm just going to the wrong bars.

kingarthur - 2015-02-22

We are an hour outside of NOLA. We're just outside the NOLA metro, but they celebrate Mardi Gras across the gulf south from Pensacola to Mobile to Biloxi to NOLA to the Texas border.

It's part of the tourist economy. Not so much in Biloxi. Here we have seriously not recovered from Katrina. The venue this happened in is in a part of the city that is 90% abandoned buildings.
