I only listened to the first 2 minutes or so, but that's exactly how my last tinder date went. I found out it was her birthday a few days before we started chatting so I made her a mix CD, put a bow around it and everything, not sure if that was being weird. I'm not sure if she's listened to it, but I hope she liked Babymetal and Swans. Because there's a lot of that.

EvilHomer - 2015-02-25

If you're curious, this is the CD and tracklist:

Yay Puffy Amiyumi! More Than a Feeling's a bit overcooked though.

EvilHomer - 2015-02-25

Yeah, he's had a small interest in Puffy for years. He owns at least two of their video games, according to

http://sonichu.com/cwcki/List_of_Chris%27s_video_games

and one of the lines in Sonichu #5 was lifted from the show.

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-02-25

I've heard of at least 4 of those bands! At this rate, some day I'll be able to live in Portland too!

infinite zest - 2015-02-25

You can take my place. I'm saving up to move away probably next year. I like it here but I have a 5 year rule about living anywhere, and I'm closing in on year #7..

DavidBowiesLuckyTennisBall - 2015-02-25

I can't tell which is the band name and which is the song title :(

infinite zest - 2015-02-25

It's the artist and then the song. Just copied and pasted. Turns out she likes Taylor Swift and Pink Martini. She's cute but we're not gonna last.

yogarfield - 2015-02-26

@jetbin heh heh heh

@zesty where the fuck are you moving

infinite zest - 2015-02-26

Not really sure. Maybe down to Australia for a while, like Brisbane. Besides my immediate family, the rest of my family lives down under. I'd like to live in New Orleans too but my ex lives there and I know it's a big city but I'm worried I'd bump into her anyway, so that's off the list.. Portland's great but it's changing so quickly. I'm lucky in that I made a lot of friends and I squat which is what a lot of people do, but plenty of people who make a lot of money come in and drive up the rent. That's the story of everycity USA I know, but Portland's too small for that sort of change. For example, the last place I paid rent for went up from 570/mo for a 2BR to 1195 with no notable changes in 3 years. That's still cheap by some cities' standards but if I ever want more than a futon with a curtain (or sleeping under a pinball machine) I'll have to either go back to school or become a male stripper.

urbanelf - 2015-02-25

I don't understand why this exists. Everything about it is horrible. I don't know whether to give it 1 or 5 stars.

Scrimmjob - 2015-02-25

Yeah, idk who is more gross, Chris or the people setting this up / recording this. The guy who uploaded it is some obsessed creep who can usually be found dumpster diving the burnt out remnants of chris' house.

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-02-25

I think I'll just not rate it. I rate too much shit here anyway... 21000 videos? Dear god I've got a problem.

bopeton - 2015-02-26

We're definitely past the point where his trolls are worse than he is. Chris-chan was interesting because he went out of his way to display his creepy obsessions to everyone on YouTube.

Now he's to the point where he has about the same footprint on the Internet I do, except the gang of weirdos who follow him and bait him and probe him.

There's also a chicken-and-egg problem where CWC might have learned from his mistakes, gained a little wisdom, and grew up a bit if it weren't for the constant bizarre bullying. Who made who?

EvilHomer - 2015-02-26

I've mentioned this before, but I am firmly in the anti-Catie camp! The CWCki article on the Catie Saga confirms that this was indeed the dominant way of thinking amongst contemporary fans, although a later edit goes on to imply that Chris' subsequent behavior at GameStop cancelled out whatever sympathy he earned here.

I do not agree with that editor.

Chris' existence is not some zero-sum karmic game; unjust actions remain unjust actions, regardless of the weight of Chris' sins, past ir future. And I reject the claim that Chris' behavior at GameSpot was entirely unprovoked; he does not operate in a vacuum! It is clear from reading his accounts that Chris' pepper spray assault was a stress reaction, the sadly logical culmination to years of abuse and trauma. His flurry of self-destructive behavior around Christmastime seems to have been provoked by his "breakup" with Catie, by the Sonic redesign (a legitimately traumatic event for an autistic Sonic fan), and by the looming threat of having to move back into 14 Branchland Court, a house haunted by the ghosts of many a bad memory. Catie is not *solely* responsible for Peppergate, of course, nor even is she *mostly* responsible - Catie was only one of many contributing factors, and of course Chris bears ultimate responsibility for all of the things he does. But again, _Chris does not operate in a vacuum_. Every event that occurs to him has consequences outside of those intermittent snippets of his life that the rest of us get to see; every outburst, paid up through the capital of his past.

Catie is not the worst of his trolls, and she is certainly no monster, at least not on a level like Thaddeus or BlueSpike. But she is undoubtedly a worse person than Chris is.

Scrimmjob - 2015-02-26

I think Chris' excuse for pepper praying that guy is bullshit. You've seen the video of him sashaying out of the Gamestop, clearly the guy standing by the exit was no threat. Also somewhere else chris stated that feeling he wasn't getting the respect he deserves was grounds for a pepper spraying.

EvilHomer - 2015-02-26

Whether the guy was literally a threat or not is irrelevant; what matters, at least for the purposes of this discussion, was Chris' perception of the threat. Triggers don't have to be based on any objectively verifiable measurements, particularly when you're an autistic man who has suffered seven years of almost daily abuse!

bopeton - 2015-02-26

I'm going to five-star it because it belongs on poeTV but I hope everyone involved in it dies.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-02-26

I hope everyone involved becomes a millionaire. Including Chris.

kingarthur - 2015-02-26

I'm really curious to see what happens to Chris if everybody just leaves him alone for a year?

Nikon - 2015-02-26

We'd get a new video of Chris showing off his Lego creations at McDonald's.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-02-26

We already have the answer to that question; he'll trespass at businesses he's already been banned from, vandalize game displays and pepper spray the employees.

I keep seeing more and more people here on PoeTV insisting that Chris is a victim and none of the crazy shit in his life would be happening if not for internet trolls, but the thing is, when the GameStop thing happened and when he turned into a crossdressing transgender vagina of my soul male lesbian brony, he had been completely absent from the internet for well over a year. He'd posted no videos and nothing really trollable, and none of his antics could in any way be connected to trolling.

I won't argue whether his life would be significantly different or not if he'd never developed an internet presence (I personally think it would be) but anyone who denies that 90% of the fucked up happenings in his life were brought upon him by himself or his parents doesn't know shit about Chris Chan.

BiggerJ - 2015-02-26

The thing is, he may never be left alone until the day he dies. The high-school gal pals who revealed that they only befriended him out of pity? Troll. (He'd learnt that fact from at least one other source as well, but the emails pushed him into suicidal ideation.) The in-person sweetheart? Troll. And the fact that those were trolls was kept from the CWCki forums (now the Kiwi Farms at kiwifar.ms) until one of the forums' higher-ups got pissed off, told everyone and closed the secret trolling forum (the one they had despite the fact that trolling was forbidden for everyone else - the formal reason for that rule being that if a trolling attempt is shitty it could ruin things for everyone else - ethics? What the fuck are those?)

EvilHomer - 2015-02-26

Who says "none" of the crazy stuff would happen without his trolls? That's a patently ridiculous claim, Mr DQL. Chris is more than capable of acting crazy on his own.

What people are waking up to - and it's not just here on poeTV, it's on the CWCki and the forums and the chans and wherever else Chris can be found - is that the trolls' behavior brings out a darker, more dangerous sort of crazy in Chris. † We're accepting the fact that none of his "faults" or "mistakes" have justified the absolutely sickening physical, emotional, and sexual abuse he's suffered over the years - he's a gross oaf, not an evil monster, and besides which even evil monsters are entitled to proportionality in their punishments. Most of all, we're coming to grips, slowly, sometimes painfully, with the realization that we are ALL moral actors here. We are, each of us, just as responsible for our own actions as Mr Chandler is for his. If Chris deserves to be tormented for the crime of being born slow and oblivious to basic social cues, what then does a fully-cognizant individual like Catie deserve, someone who freely chooses to hurt and manipulate a lonely autistic child, knowing full well, even eagerly anticipating, the profound damage that their actions will inflict?

† (Chris was not running people over or pepper spraying employees until well after the trolls stripped him of his usual coping strategies; the GameStop thing, far from being "unconnected to trolling", as you claim, occurred almost *immediately* after his messy breakup with Catie! When he *wasn't* being trolled, he kept more or less to himself for over a year, growing and maturing as a lesbian transgendered woman, weird but not harming anyone. When he *was* trolled again? BAM, a week or so later, and he's assaulting employees at the local mall. GameStop was actually indisputable evidence for the toxic influence his trolls have on him right there)

BiggerJ - 2015-02-26

The following wiki pages

http://www.sonichu.com/cwcki/Trolls#Today
http://www.sonichu.com/cwcki/Catherine#Backlash

are very telling about the CWCki community's stance on this. They found the most recent trolling to be horrible, but refuse to consider it to be connected to Chris's most recent actions against other people. As far as they're concerned, those were all Chris's fault.

yogarfield - 2015-02-26

Nikon is right.
