-1 for sweater girl dissing salt&vinegar chips

SolRo - 2015-03-01

actually -2 for that terrible judgment, but +1 for chubby girl liking every snack.

Cena_mark - 2015-03-02

To be fair the chips along with all the other snacks didn't have enough hot dogs and mayonnaise on them.

Old_Zircon - 2015-03-02

Salt and vinegar chips are pretty gross.

oddeye - 2015-03-02

FUCK YOU SALT AND VINIGAR IS KING

Old_Zircon - 2015-03-02

If they used something like citric acid it would be great, but white vinegar is almost always a bad move in anything.

Scrimmjob - 2015-03-02

Salt and vin I like, but I really like "Grandma's make out breath recipe "Sweet Onion chips.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-03-02

I rank salt and vinegar chips in a special category I refer to as "disgusting in a good way."

craptacular - 2015-03-02

i love salt and vinegar flavor, it's one of the best, right up there with All Dressed, and Ketchup.

EvilHomer - 2015-03-02

S&V is pretty good, particularly when paired with a nice rootbeer or Coke. It is generally not a good idea to binge eat them, however; they are a sipping potato chip, not a guzzling potato chip.

Which is a good thing! Buying S&V means you get strong taste, easily within the Top Ten potato chip flavors, but are naturally inclined towards eating reasonable portions.

glasseye - 2015-03-02

American snacks are utter trash EXCEPT for salt and vinegar chips.

crasspm - 2015-03-02

The warheads thing. I think I've found my safe for work fetish of choice.

Bort - 2015-03-02

Warheads are fun that way, they're an endurance test while the sour layer is dissolving all over your tongue.

If we ever go to war with Korea, I think we've found a weakness we can exploit. Even American three-year-olds can do Warheads:

ashtar. - 2015-03-02

A friend bought a whole jar of them once and we had a contest. I ate 25 of them at once and couldn't taste anything for two days.

This is why America will always be #1. USA! USA! USA!

Old_Zircon - 2015-03-02

Are warheads still sour? I tried one a few years ago and it wasn't that sour at all, nothing like they were when they first came out. It was more like a Lemonhead or something. Maybe I got a bad one.

Old_Zircon - 2015-03-02

Looks like I'm not the only one who noticed this:

Old_Zircon - 2015-03-02

Also they aren't an American snack, they're Taiwanese. At least the old, sour ones were, maybe the formula change marked a sale of the brand to a US company or something. The old ones would leave the roof of your mouth feeling kind of rough if you ate more than one, like the way it feels if you burn it just a little on pizza.

Old_Zircon - 2015-03-02

"When it melts i my mouth it kinda feels like I'm eating belly fat."

Meerkat - 2015-03-02

Five for the two basing their valuations on how the snacks would accompany alcohol.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-03-02

The Cheez-its people need to recognize that as a business opportunity.

ashtar, well then don't move to Korea because they are few and far between.

infinite zest - 2015-03-03

Are these foods really that hard to find in S. Korea? I live right by a little Korean convenients store and they have some of those things you described below (I'm mostly just there for beer and cigarettes) but I think they have all of these too, at least pop tarts and Lay's potato chips.. you'd think the Salt & Vinegar chips would be good, because a lot of my limited S. Korean culinary experience involved this really salty appetizer.. and rice vinegar is pretty common.. but I agree that Lay's Salt and Vinegar chips kinda suck. Kettlechips, that's a different story. That's one thing I really miss about Milwaukee Wisconsin. There were a surprising number of really good Korean restaurants and basically it was impossible to leave hungry for about 7 bucks because of all the free appetizers. This one place loved me because the girls thought I was Rain. It was really cute because the girls were like really shy to serve me anything, and giggling in the back..

infinite zest - 2015-03-03

Besides possibly my hair, I don't look anything like Rain :)

Gmork - 2015-03-02

Can't even contain their xenophobia for 5 seconds. 5 stars for how everything sounds like a judgement of the culture that produced it!

Void 71 - 2015-03-02

They must have edited out the part where the girls washed the unclean taste of American imperialism from their mouths with deep-fried crickets and dog jerky.

Lef - 2015-03-03

My experience with South Koreans is limited, but they seemed to admire the US. The ones I met were all planning on making anchor babies, flying their 7 month pregnant wives to Puerto Rico to give birth in clinics specialized for Koreans. Some lucky wives would have their moms present to help out, others would do it alone.

Dual citizenship was a big deal. The ones who had family that studied state-side, or had kids move there were very proud of that.

And drinking. They can drink. Seoul looked like it was over-run with zombies at about midnight, drunks stumbling home.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-03-02

Having lived in Korea for two years I totally understand where they are coming from. After I came back to America I really missed the snacks there. Shrimp chips, these light biscuits with chocolate on just one side (I can't remember their name but I got so fat on those) Dr. Yu's granola bars, tteot (which is basically kind of like mochi but slightly chewier), mochi of all kinds, melon ice cream, seaweed laver snacks (the only Korean snack I can find in the US), red bean pastries, dried persimmons stuffed with walnuts, potato chips in the shape of French fries, Choco Pies (oh my fuck Choco Pies), these little sticks of cracker with sugary peanut glaze, squid peanut ball crackers (no really they are fucking great), and my favorite was this bread I used to get that has glutinous rice cake on the inside and the middle was hollow. I have no idea how they made that but it was delicious.

I often had a problem missing food from home and I got food poisoning three times. A lot of main courses in the seafood department made me ill but Korean snacks were great. Which probably explains why I gained 35 pounds while I was there (which I have since worked off).
