Anything can become a "hack" if you call it one, even commonplace well-known personal technology that was the norm back in the mid-1800s.

Life hack: when you make a video for YouTube, mix the public domain soundtrack so loud that you can't hear the narration.

Although if you google some actual coverage, it's a really good idea, they're using bottles of water as refractive light sources similar to the glass prisms that were embedded in the decks of ships to provide safe, fuel-free light below decks.
