I wish I was conscripted into the Apple Corps when was getting off the bus at Cape May. Then I could've been something Applejack could be proud of. Sometimes I tell myself that I'm protected America's apple orchards by protecting the coast, but its not the same as the duties of the Apple Corps.
This video proves how awesome apples and apple farmers are. You can't make wine from muffins, but they do make good ant feed.

Old_Zircon - 2015-03-15

You could probably make beer from muffins.

Well, "beer" at any rate.

STOP CYBERBULLYING DERPY!!!

Boones Farm was the first thing I ever got drunk on. I think it was a whole bottle of the blue raspberry one or maybe the strawberry one. I didn't even know they had an apple one, which actually sounds kinda good.

I like how they could get in trouble because they don't have the age verification page on their website.. oh well, your secret's safe with me, Boone's Farm. Thanks for making me puke.

Scrimmjob - 2015-03-15

It was mad dog 20/20 for me, that shit goes down green and comes up neon orange.

Oh god.. never had MD but my ex and I used to celebrate Hanukkah in June, because everybody in college mistook her for being Jewish and it kind of became a joke, like "Christmas in July." So we'd make Latkes and Matzo Ball soup and drink a shit ton of Manischewitz grape wine. I didn't puke but it was the worst hangover I've ever had and I never want to be near the stuff ever again.

fedex - 2015-03-15

In high school Boones Farm was what we drank when we couldn't get MadDog 20/20

"Country wine" is a curious euphemism.

The Mothership - 2015-03-15

In the wine trade it's actually an accurate and widely-used designation for wine made from fruit other than grapes. It also sounds incredibly ghetto when used in this context.

John Stephenson, one of Hanna-Barbera's voice acting go-to guys.

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-03-15

Would that make this the companion ad for Fred Flintstone shilling Winston cigarettes?

Old_Zircon - 2015-03-15

So did they do an endorsement deal with late 60s Christian blues rock band the U.S. Apple Corps, or what?

infinite zest - 2015-03-15

Does Boone's Farm qualify as Bumwine? I miss bumwine week.

BHWW - 2015-03-15

Boone's Farm is not so much a bumwine as a "a lame workplace party"-wine or a "house party full of young people where somebody ends up drinking too much and pukes in a saltwater aquarium inhabited by rather expensive and delicate tropical fish"-wine

chumbucket - 2015-03-16

In my generation and corner of the planet it was always considered "high school out back behind the soccer field redneck wine"

EvilHomer - 2015-03-15

The Apples would never win a government contract from the Apple Corps. Flim & Flam know how to meet production quotas and keep unit costs down; they've also got that Good Old Boy attitude, the willingness to "play ball", which their more idealistic apple-growing competition lacks! Sweet Apple Acres couldn't even eliminate a simple vampire bat infestation, so there's no way their shareholders would stay the course in places like Afghanistan or South America.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-03-15

come on, boys! You're legal enough to drink this stuff in France so you can inexplicably get excited about helping us make it!

cognitivedissonance - 2015-03-15

Roger Carmel was a troubled man who desperately wanted a mainstream television career. His last role was in DuckTales.

He died of a cocaine overdose while having sex with a male prostitute.

Xenocide - 2015-03-15

He seems fun!

Xenocide - 2015-03-15

They had planned to bring back Harry Mudd to liven up the terrible first season of Star Trek The Next Generation. No doubt the inevitable tie-in with Boone's wine would have resulted in a glorious sequence where Worf, drunk on country goodness, commandeers the ship and crashes it into an apple farm. From then on Worf's character would have been identical to that of the Trix Rabbit, but with everyone refusing to give him wine instead.

But then Roger Carmel died, forcing them to rewrite the episode into some bullshit with Romulans, probably.

Doomstein - 2015-03-15

If that'd come to pass, I'm pretty sure that'd been the ONLY season of Star Trek the Next Generation.

Now a Billy Dee Williams cameo, where he's beamed aboard the Enterprise and released from a carbon stasis block (carbonite), and laments that he'll never again taste the smooth flavor of Colt .45, THAT'D sell a fucking show.

TeenerTot - 2015-03-16

I love you Xeno.
